Why are people being attacked for not liking a NYer cover?

Is bashing the nominee so important that we have to unite behind the NYer in order to help promote negative images of the nominee?

With the FISA griping I could at least see some kind of principle at work among the nominee bashing. But this one is just bizarre. It's as though being bothered by negative depictions of the nominee is violating people's rights to hear some tell it.

The defenses of the cover are almost all laced with the same lame concepts: "It's satire, and I can see the humor in it, so everyone should agree with me that's it's funny, that it doesn't hurt Obama, and that it's appropriate!"

They seem more interested in patting themselves on the back and broadcasting how "sophisticated" they must be because they "got the joke."

They don't realize you can "get the joke" and still think (1) it's not funny; and (2) it's ultimately damaging to Obama.

11. It's been amazing

It's like you're not a real democrat if you don't like the cover.

It's been kind of funny watching how they try to make you like it.

They also try and act like you're not smart enough to "get it". Once someone explains it to you then "you will understand"(I can visulalize them patting me on the head). Once I've come into the light I will join them in castigating anyone who doesn't like the cover.:sarcasm:
