McCain reading from a piece of paper on a podium-trying to slam Obama on his remarks
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 11:42 AM by jenmito
"My friends, before the surge, Obama said it would be a failure. But today he just said today that there was no doubt in my mind that the military would drastically reduce violence. Flip-floppers all over the world are enraged. It gives new meaning." (paraphrase) Then he went on to ridicule Obama for giving his speech BEFORE going on his "fact-finding mission" in Iraq and Afghanistan. His delivery is Bush-like. He's stumbling over his words even as he attacks Obama.

6. Exactly. I wish OBAMA would CALL him on his flip-flopping, though!
The label is sticking to Obama because the media keeps using it (just like McCain wants).

11. I agree. And if OBAMA doesn't talk about McCain's flip-flop hypocrisy, NOBODY will. If he DOES,
the media WILL cover it.

28. Not nitpicking. Earlier this morning, that terminology was what polled
high for him. He's running his flag up the pole.

What I'm reacting to is that Brownback and a couple of other goomers have been on since that speech carping on how McCain was responsible for the surge and its wonderful success and that only he can deliver victory in Iraq---which, of course, the American people want. Gag.

17. Yep. Thats got to be it.
That and the fact that I find him to be an astonishingly loathsome human being. A genuine all around piece of shit. How anyone could support this man is absolutely beyond me. I see nothing good about him whatsoever. Nothing.

5. The last time McCain did this the media took it unquestionably and went with it
It seems like a winning strategy for McCain, assuming the media laps it up once again. It doesn't matter if Obama really changed or not, McCain says he "flip flopped" so that makes it news. And why is changing your opinion such a negative thing anyway?

15. Its embarassing

his math is even childish

He stated that in Afghanistan, which had 35,000 troops nearly doubled its total troops to 55,000 which of course is an increase of about 50%

He would do great on budget issues.

25. Rethug game is, with a pliant, willing media, to brand Obama a flip-flopper, like they did Kerry.
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 11:51 AM by flpoljunkie
We need more Olbermanns who speak truth to power and journalists like Newsweek's Richard Wolffe, who said there had been 'sloppy reporting' in the media's falling for an Obama flip-flop on Iraq. Wolffe is a frequent guest of Olbermann, as well.

Sloppy or willful? That is the question.

reporting." He didn't want to call it what it really is-covering for McCain.

37. Somebody - anybody - should stand up and ask McCain where are the WMD's in Iraq.
Because since that was the lie that Bush used to get us into the war in Iraq, someone needs to remind McCain that this war is an illegal, immoral war because it was started on lies, rumors, and innuendo.

Continuing to fight a war based on lies is a lie itself.

We are not making the world safer for anyone by staying in Iraq.
