Has the New Yorker had any covers satirizing McSame?

He is ripe for satire if you ask me. So if the magazine has not done so yet, I await such a cover impatiently. This one could be really funny if they did it right.

Any ideas for the New Yorker staff? What should the subject matter be? I'm sure DUers could come up with a really hard hitting and funny concept.

8. it doesn't work

The idea behind the cover is to depict all the totally idiotic things that white Red State morons believe about Obama and that they email in breathless detail to each other, like how Obama is the mastermind behind 9/11 and that he's going to hand over control of the US to Osama bin Laden after taking the Oath of Office (and after giving him a terrorist fist bump), and he'll declare jihad on all the good white Christians and slaughter them for Allah. We don't believe such totally off the wall things about McCain. We aren't insane. The actual facts about McCain are plenty.

This stupid cover image will be emailed all summer and fall just like the photo of Obama in Somali dress. The New Yorker gave a loaded gun to an imbecile by putting this image out.

No one seemed to be outraged by all the tasteless satire about Hillary. At least the media didn't make it such a big issue as this stuff about Obama. Nation of whiners? Maybe.

12. This is true.

It's their style. When they did the cover of Clinton facing the press around Lewinsky time they managed to skewer the press more than Bill by having all the mikes aimed at his genitals. This current one is harder to pull off perhaps because so many people harbor some doubts about the Obamas and it makes liberals feel uncomfortable to have to confront those doubts and unspoken thoughts. His blank-slateness makes room for this of course. And I also have this thought in the back of the head that some old time radicals find the idea of an Angela Davis in the WH quite appealing.(Just as he scares the begeezus out of more conservative types)
