Sure, some possible events are more likely than others, but almost anything could happen that would effect the election. And that's why I don't spend a lot of time fretting over what will happen in the next 3+ months.

And no one knows what will happen. Will the U.S. attack Iran? Will Israel? Will some scandal damage either McCain or Obama? Will a Katrina type natural disaster occur? Will John McCain's health hold up? Will the economic downturn be even greater than even the most pessimistic experts predict? Will there be an attack on the U.S.?

Unknowable. Despite all the conviction that some have that X or Y will happen.
