Two rotten peas in a pod: Mark Penn and Karen Hughes join forces.
Clinton, Bush Advisers Steeped in Crisis Join Forces

WASHINGTON -- Two hard-charging political operatives are teaming up to create a bipartisan consulting organization to advise corporations in crisis -- as they work to burnish their own reputations as well.

Former Clinton strategist Mark Penn, chairman and CEO of public-relations firm Burson-Marsteller, is hiring former Bush adviser Karen Hughes as a vice chairman, the principals say. The political combatants, known for their partisan efforts, decided to combine forces to offer a one-stop crisis-communication and public-affairs shop to corporations caught in front-page headlines or faced with a changing Washington.

10. Speaking of Mark Penn, and his bloated bill to Hillary Clinton's campaign...

Obama Donors Aren’t Rushing to Aid Clinton
By PATRICK HEALY

Clinton campaign officials estimated that the millions owed to Mr. Penn and his team was by far the largest part of Mrs. Clinton’s debt, though they emphasized that the money was not only going for Mr. Penn’s time but also for the services provided by his colleagues and his polling and strategy firm. Clinton officials said they could not provide a breakdown of those amounts. (I suspect because Penn has not provided them with one.)

17. Perfect. There is SO much to learn from this. First and foremost is the truth
that they reveal - the political parties are irrelevant. That is a fundamental reality which we must accept.

18. In the sense of "new politics", right?
Isn't this the "change" we are being asked to embrace?

What does Obama mean by this: "America, our moment is now. I don’t want to spend the next year or the next four years re-fighting the same fights that we had in the 1990s. I don’t want to pit Red America against Blue America, I want to be the President of the United States of America."

20. Did you just repeat a right wing talking point?
You know, the one with them saying he's "just another politician". I'm guessing you're bitter, but at least don't do their work for them. But then again, if party doesn't matter, then what the hell.

21. No. Actually, I'm trying to find out if this subject reflects lingering
resentment of all things Clinton, and if so, when are we going to get over it.
