Advancing Women's Equality Day by focusing on the economic pressures facing women, Teresa Heinz Kerry will focus on rising health care costs at a visit Tuesday (8/24) with women at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.V.
Mrs. Kerry will speak with area women about the economy and the economic pressures women face from rising health care and prescription drug costs. These are issues Mrs. Heinz Kerry has addressed through her philanthropic work aimed at helping women achieve economic security.
Women's Equality Day is Thursday, August 26th, and marks the passage of the 19th Amendment. This day now honors not only a women's right to vote, but the continued efforts of women to achieve full equality.
Throughout this week, Mrs. Heinz Kerry will be focusing on economic issues affecting women in stops in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.
