Bush is just digging the hole deeper...LOL
I’m 42 years old and I remember the men coming home from Vietnam. I also remember the horror stories about what happened over there, and how America blamed the soldiers for the evil that unfolded. I have a brother in law that came home sick with Agent Orange, with no idea what the fuck he had, and without any acknowledgment or responsibility from the military, he just stayed sick. Both men and woman suffered deeply, physically and mentally from that so called war, and our Government, Military and even our own citizens, turned their backs on and condemned them for what they endured.

So why would I as an American, support or vote for a President that sank as low as to crucify a war hero of any kind. I’m sicken by it, and all I can hope for is that the American people see through these war happy Republicans and their slimy ways of getting what they want and vote them OUT!

He has started another bloodbath, killing, maiming and mentally fucking up the men and women of our children’s future. How dare he use this sicking, terribly sad and embarrassing war to try and disarm a man of Kerry’s statue. Shame on him!

This reminds me of the same shit that the Bush Administration pulled when they got caught with their pants down over the Iraq prisoner torture scandal, once again the small guy down in the muck is the one that got blamed and disowned. Ask yourself who taught those soldiers to be cold and calculated, it was our military. So if, and I say IF, Kerry had to do things we might not all consider dinner table conversation, so be it!

When Bush walks in the shoes of John Kerry and is a War Hero himself, I might listen to his option of what a War Hero is, until then I put as much value in it as his ability to run this country.

Bush will pay dearly for this campaign move, it makes him look like a scared rabbit!

I’m voting for John Kerry and John Edwards with American Pride!

4. I agree- Bush backers are once again showing their lack of patriotism
and betrayal of veterans by attacking Kerry's service the way they attacked John McCain and Max Cleland. They use the tactics of cowards and bullies of bringing other people down to make their sorry candidate look better. Since Bush's character flaws, poor judgment, lousy performance and failure of leadership is so obvious, they know he cannot compete against Kerry if they play fair, so all they can do is lie and cheat to bring down Kerry to Bush's level.

If General Clark had gotten the VP nomination, Bushco would have wasted no time thoroughly trashing his record and reputation too.

Bush is a weasily coward to not condemn the Swiftboat liars ad. But he and they are desperate to win and they have a proven track record of winning by playing dirty. I hope Americans wise up this time.

6. The Right Wing is infamous...
for being down and dirty. They believe in "the ends justify the means". They view the Left as enemies and use any tacticts to destroy their enemies. Amerika is a Plutocracy. The Right Wing fights for the Capitalists against the Middle Class, The Working Poor and the Poor, people they have disdain for.

The Right Wing Agenda

Abolish

Social Security
Medicare
Employer supplied health insurance
Unemployment Benefits
Welfare
Collective Bargaining
EPA
Public Education

8. Whatever your opinions about the war in Vietnam...
Kerry clearly CARED about the guys who fought it. He worked not only to end the war but to get the Nam vets real care in veterans hospitals, when the country wanted to sweep them under the rug. And then years later he worked with McCain for the POW/MIA's. He's always been on the side of the vets and the guys/girls who do the fighting.

That's why he's hated by the guys who start the wars for their own political purposes, but don't want to fight them themselves, or send their own kids.

Welcome to DU!

9. not crucifying...
I'm not sure that he's crucifying him so much. He certainly is guilty of not trying to stop what people are saying on his behalf, but I don't think he's said anything directly disdainful. We need to keep a calm head here. Getting angry only errodes our position.

10. and what would "our" position be, exactly?
Because I believe Kerry's position is that Bush's refusal to condemn the ad "says everything you need to know."
