From the racist Republican who brought you that Obama button...
The Texas Republican Party is distancing itself from a vendor who sold campaign buttons at last weekend's state convention that asked, "If Obama is president ... will we still call it The White House?"

State GOP spokesman Hans Klingler said the party does not vet the merchandise being sold, but officials plan to discuss doing so in the future. The button sales at the convention in Houston were first reported in The Dallas Morning News.

"This vendor need not apply to another Texas GOP state convention," Klingler said. "We will neither tolerate nor profit from bigotry."

The vendor, Jonathan Alcox, said he was trying to be funny and based the button on a political cartoon. He said he made 12 buttons and sold four, two of them to reporters.

"We're into humor, not racism," said Alcox, who described himself as an independent who may vote for Obama in November. "Why would I do that purposely? I thought it was funny."

"The Republican Party of Texas told me I can never go there again. They're my biggest event," Alcox said. "It's pretty much put me out of business."

Oh, and the Texas GOP also denied the Log Cabin Republicans a booth at the GOP state convention in 1998.

But here's a look at some of the hate Jonathan Alcox has profited (or is trying to profit) from:

There you have it, your Republican Party. Can't you just feel the hate?

At least this one's honest:

4. Ugly as those badges and slogans may be...
they're really no different from the sloganeering I hear any time I tune into AM talk radio, locally. And the GOP continues to embrace Rush, Hannity, Bennett, Medved, Ingraham, et al.

She lives in a pretty liberal enclave now in downtown Portland, Oregon to be a Republican!

This idiot's pretty sick! Learns his trade well from Rush and Michael Savage I suppose. Perhaps it's a good sign that maybe these guys will be at some point totally marginalized if we can push the Rethugs enough. These guys need to be pushed into the corner rather than cannonized like the Rethugs have been doing with them for the last decade or so!

12. He should have concentrated more on his Democratic line
In case you folks don't know, Mr. Alcox also runs democratmall.com. In fact, his political donation history shows a man that has no trouble playing both sides of the aisle:

http://newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?st=FL&last=Alcox

Part of being a success in business is the ability to predict and exploit trends in the market. Mr. Alcox got too comfortable with his core customer base - Republicans. He paid scant attention and devoted no passion to his Democratic product line. In addition, he made little effort to maximize profits from Internet sales, instead, concentrating on physical location sales.

IMHO, Mr. Alcox still has the opportunity to turn this around by putting the same effort into Democratic items as he did with Republican ones.

Then again, he could also capitalize on a future niche market of disaffected and bitter Republicans who will need to express themselves when they lose control in the November.

<end of bullshit business rant>

13. Just one question : The name of the GOP spokesman is "Hans Klingler"???
His relatives must have taken the wrong boat in 1945 to end up in North instead of South America...
