7. I agree as well.
Please see my post.

The parallels between these guys are fascinating.

Both their mothers from the same town in KS.

Obama left Harvard law and went into community service.

Kaine left Harvard law for a year to serve as a Jesuit missionary.

It's no wonder these two are such close friends.

He has to be one of the worst speakers I've ever heard.\

He'd get brutalized in any debate.

Thanks for your consideration!

:hi:

Obama on Kaine:

"There was one person, who about three days after I announced, was willing to stand with me in the seat of the old Confederacy ... and say that the time for change has come. He's a man with the courage of his convictions ... somebody who like myself practiced civil rights law. Somebody who's shown the ability to manage a city and now manage a state. ... There are a lot of people who are your allies, and a lot of people who you've got commitments to. But you don't always have a lot of friends. The governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia is my friend."

6. Obama/Graham
What about Bob? In the Senate he was Chair or ranking member of the Senate Intelligence committee. He's normally kind of hawkish, but voted against the Iraq War. He was a two term governor of Florida.

So he's a little old, but he's still two and a half months younger than McSame. So he's kind of boring, Obama has enough charisma for two.

I like Richardson, Webb or Clark.

12. None of the above, thanks
How about John Edwards? Dennis Kucinich?
I'd take Clinton or Biden over most of the rest. Richardson leaves much to be desired when it comes to working the room, and while on some issues he is great, I have problems with his Imus shennanigans, but then again, I understand the sulrs of many nations. At least it was in Spanish, but not the sort of thing I dig in a leader at all. Take him as Sec of State maybe. Veep, no.

Webb, no way. Republican, very weak when attacked about his books, let Mrs Cheney rip him one and he just took it, pink face and atavistic thinking and all. He's lucky to be in the Seanate and should focus on his job, he's not really got the hang yet. I'm not a fan, can you tell?

Really as long as he does not try to select some Republican, I will be able to cast my vote, and the chances of him naming someone that ups my excitment level is next to nothing. Edwards would do it, but I fear he is going to try to please the other party more than the base of ours.

13. Obama/Schweitzer!
Our weak spot isn't Latinos or women or people who want to see "experience"...it's rural America.

With Schweitzer on the ticket, I'd look for a 10%+ win in November. He's a really intelligent guy who connects on a basic level with small-town America.

46. Yup that's my feeling as well
I thought Obama might've been weak with Latinos which means Richardson would've been good, but polling is showing otherwise. Obama/Schweitzer would enhance the ticket by building on the strengths that Obama already has while adding a few things he doesn't.

IMO the Clinton/Gore model for choosing a VP is the way of the future. Geographic diversity comes from the era of machine politics when certain Senators or Governors could "deliver" a state or region.

22. My favorites are Sebelius, Biden, and Clark
Sebelius seems to mesh the best with Obama's political message. Biden brings tons of great experience to the ticket. Clark brings great military experience and appears to be a great leader who would make a great V.P. as well.

31. Obama/Boxer, but if not, Obama Sebelius
It isn't so much a matter of what I prefer, but also what makes the best overall political sense -- and this year, it's to have a woman who NEVER supported the Iraq War Resolution, VERY preferably with a LOT of foreign policy experience.

34. Not a big fan of Webb. Glad to see he's not doing as well as
Hillary or Biden. I think it will either be Hillary, Biden, Webb or Edwards. I think it is telling that Edwards suddenly retracted his statement saying he wouldn't be VP. It must mean he knows that they are considering him at this point and he wants that safety net there in advance should have be asked and have to accept it.

As long as it's not Hillary or Clark, they all have their positives and negatives. Obama's the brains of this outfit, he seems pretty clear that he has a defined vision of his presidential administration, and I feel confident he will make the right selection.

48. wow. Clark winning a DU vote...
I'm shocked. :sarcasm:

That said, I've got no problem with Gen. Clark, and would be ok with him as the VP choice. As long as they're prepared to fight the rw lies about his time in the former Yugoslavia.

Actually, I'm ok with pretty much all of these possibilities - some more than others - but ok.

In the end, it's up to Obama. As it should be.
