6. WXYZ reported the arena was filled to capacity and hundreds had to watch on a jumbotron
outside the facility.

What a beautiful thing that is happening, indeed!

I'm hoping to attend an Obama event in Michigan when he is a bit closer to home.

We are going to carry this State for Obama in 2008, just as we did for Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004!

You can damn well bet ON THAT!!!

9. When I got off the PeopleMover, I thought "There's no way we're getting in"
There were huge lines snaking down the PeopleMover concourse, all the way down the Riverwalk from Hart Plaza to the Joe, and all along the street in front of the arena. Easily 21,000 or so.

10. Sadly, I was in the Bob Uecker seats in the second deck.....
.... we got there about 45 minutes before the scheduled start time at 8:30. (It was closer to 8:45 when things got going)

13. It was so funny to see the audience at
the end wanting to get close to Gore and Obama with their little cells phones lighting up above their heads.

14. I haven't heard Obama's speech yet
But Al Gore gave a convention worthy speech. It rivaled that of Kennedy's endorsement speech.
Absolutely amazing.
You saw a great piece of history!
