VP Choice
Congressman Seals seems like a good VP partner for President Obama. He has the education, relevant managerial experience and a wife and three daughters. Family time in the White House. http://www.dansealsforcongress.com/

1. Who?
Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 10:27 PM by ocelot
Never heard of him...

Added: I looked at the link, noticed a problem: He's from IL, and the president and vice president can't be from the same state.

You can't be serious. He's a black guy from Chicago (meaning, at a minimum, that Illinois' electors couldn't vote for them both). Hardly balances the ticket.

ETA: He does have a really nice website. Kudos to him on that.

3. He's got a sweet website. I like how he comes out front and center.

5. Dan Seals
Check out his web page. Chicago 10th district. Haven't heard of him? That means no bad baggage to hurt the ticket with.

9. "Haven't heard of him? That means no bad baggage to hurt the ticket with."
You mean except for his complete and utter lack of experience in elected office? Let's break it down.

PROS: Absolutely none. No compelling reason (or non-compelling reason) to pick him.
CONS: Literally no experience. From same state. Appeals to exact same group Obama does.

Yeah, that sounds like a winner.

6. Dan Seals is not a Congressman.
He is only running for Congress in the Illinois 10th District against incumbent Mark Kirk. Seals is a good man, but I doubt that Obama would tap him for VP candidate.

But let's hope that he is elected to Congress in November.

7. I liked him better when he was still with Dash. Those early albums

were pretty good, "Summer Breeze" especially.

The 12th Amendment would prohibit Obama's choosing Seals.

10. I assume this is a joke
I'm pretty sure that this is not the same Dan Seals, however I could be wrong. It's June and I haven't made my mistake yet this year. By the way did you know, at one time they had a guitar player named Glen Campbell and were called the Champs, a little ditty called Tequila.

12. Hi, spag68 -- yep, I was just joshin'. The 12th Amendment prohibits
the prez & vice prez from being from the same state.

Didn't know about the Glen Campbell guitar player. LOL!

8. Not a Congressman. No experience. Brings nothing to the ticket. From IL.
Only qualification is that he has reproduced. Hardly a unique trait.

11. It is implausible that an unknown who has never served in Congress or any other elected office
and has never held any nationally known position will be considered.

I hope he is elected to Congress this November. And that we do hear more about him in the future.
