Riding on the "Straight Talk Express" bus from his Nashua town hall meeting to the airport in Manchester on Thursday, McCain received a telephone call from New Hampshire's top Democrat -- our governor.
It was described to us as a friendly chat. Small talk. Lynch essentially welcomed the Arizona senator back to the Granite State.
And that's nice, but what will liberal Democrats think? You know, the ones who essentially put up with the governor's moderate (from their perspective) ways because he's so popular and keeps winning elections?
It brought back memories of last October, when Lynch attended a McCain town hall meeting in Lynch's hometown of Hopkinton and announced that he has "enormous respect and admiration for Senator McCain and all that he has done for all of us all over the country if not all over the world."
McCain that day called Lynch a "great governor" and thanked him for governing the state in a "bipartisan fashion."
