There really are unicorns
Edited on Thu Jun-12-08 02:15 PM by AtomicKitten
... well, sorta kinda.

I post this for people here who have been beaten down by bad government, reluctant to believe in anything having to do with government again, and think change is as likely as a sparkly unicorn.

I think we have a real shot at some real change. Maybe not exactly as some have imagined, but something definitely much better. And it looks like a blue tsunami is ours if we take it. I'm leaving for Colorado now to ferret out new voters in one of what is estimated to be 10 doable swing/red states. It is so on now.

Visitors flocking to see 'unicorn' deer

By MARTA FALCONI, Associated Press Writer

(06-12) 07:41 PDT ROME, Italy (AP) --

The shy, young deer nicknamed "Unicorn" because of the rare, single horn in the center of his head is drawing hundreds of curious visitors, park officials said Thursday.

People are flocking to the nature preserve in Tuscany where the deer lives, hoping to see him and take his picture.

Single-horned deer are rare but not unheard of but experts say the central positioning of Unicorn's horn is unusual. Tozzi speculated that similar anomalies might have inspired the myth of the unicorn.

The unicorn, a horse-like creature with magical healing powers, has appeared in legends and stories throughout history, from ancient and medieval texts to the adventures of Harry Potter.

2. Could this be a genetic deformity caused by pollution of the water and
food supply of the deer's mother?

4. The tip looks like it was carved off
But if not, it's a pretty neat genetic mutation. I only hope an attention seeking sociopath human won't kill it and take a picture.

7. It looks like a stick or root in the grass behind the deer.
I'm too lazy to look it up, but I detect the stench of bovine fecal matter here.

8. My RW nextdoor neighbor was ranting about Unicorns a few years back....
She was trying to argue that, "unicorns are witchcraft," to which I replied, "Um, unicorns don't exist." She thought for a second then got upset and ran into her house, as she always did when I pointed out anything obvious to her.

She basically thinks that the universe is one big, scary, monster filled haunted house. I feel sorry for her.
