It may be that simple. Keep the meme going. Americans like to vote for a winner. Bob Dole was a loser and Clinton a winner. People like to be on the winning side. The Dems shouldn't talk about a close race. Forget the polls and pundits. They should highlight that McCain won in a very weak primary field and he is a weak candidate. But the Repubs didn't have anyone else. Obama won in a very tough primary fight, he's a winner. Obama's a winner. McCain's a loser. Pass it on.
1. Never count out a guy that was a POW over 5 years.
He is running on it. Not that it makes a good President but it sure makes some vote for him. Funny how that works for some in the GOP yet they trashed a guy with no legs and one arm.
But to me he's more victim than hero. They trashed a true Silver Star honored hero in the last election, so I see no reason to treat him with kidd gloves.
3. It also does not mean that you learned 'one thing' after 5 plus
years as a POW. McCain was always a star. His father and grand father made him one. I sort of like the guy my self but these things do not mean he would be a good President. Fact is to be a good person in the service you learn to go by the orders. It is not a group job just like the Corp. world. I would think it better to get people of other talents in to the WH. This rule by orders is just not to my thinking at all. I feel so much better to have a general pop. vote on things. The House should have most of the power. I believe the Constitution said so. I swear some times, in this country, we miss the royal family.
