To Kerry: Alienate me if you have to...But fight back, dammit
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 12:55 AM by Armstead
Okay I'm a lefty, and I want the ghost of Paull Wellstone to inhabit Kerry's body. But that aint gonna happen.

So I want Kerry to forget folks like me if he has to until the election is over. John, be as DLC as you want for the next couple of months, if it'll get you to evict Bush fromn the White House. Just do SOMETHING and stop flying your damn hairdresser across country. Stop waffling about Cambidia.

Pleeeeeeze. I'm getting cold sweats thinking that you might snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Please, dammit -- fight back. Bush and his zombie army are coming at you with long knives, and you can't fend them off with toothpicks.

You're losing in the "manly protector" battle. Take on them Swift Boat assholes....And then move on from Viet Nam. Talk about security today. If you have to talk like George Patton.

Raise some mud. Drag out Halliburton. Drag out Valerie Plame. The Iraq lies. Stop agreeing with George about it.

Send out your meanest surrogates. Get those wimpy consultants off the talk shows and put people like Harkin and Obama and Dean any other tough talking inspiring Dem you can get on the tube.

Be left, center or right if you have to. But kick some GOP booty. Build on that Boston speech.

Do whatever it takes. Just don't let that weasly-eyed Texan squeak into the White House because we came THAT CLOSE but missed the cigar.

1. Ya know what?
Kerry knows when to fight and when to wait. He's proved that over and over. Take a shower for your sweats and get some cold nerve, like John's got. ;p

4. "waffling" on cambodia and the hairstylist comments are right wing attacks
you didn't say how to deal with these attacks or anything. you took at as legitimate attacks that he needs to stop doing.

6. Call a spade a spade
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 01:07 AM by Armstead
If he didn't fly his hairdresser, then make that clear. If he did, then explain why clearly. They're making hay out of that. He can't just pretend to be above it.

Cambodia, he's got to tell it like he honestly remembers it.

Sorry but he's playing in their hands if he doesn't answer as aggreesively as they are tossing this crap around.

8. At this point yes
(Your picture didn't come through.)

He needs to be on offense and they're keeping him on defense.

Shouldn't be nasty or dishonest. But there's so much out there to scuttle Bush but it's being kept below the radar.

Meanwhile the GOP is making stuff up, and it sticks enough to erode Kerry's image.

9. Nobody wants to listen to us for some reason.

Like you, I wish Kerry were a lot farther to the left but I'm supporting him. I had to judo my attitude to do it but I'm behind him and I want him to win. I'm scared to death of what would happen if he doesn't.

I saw how they did Dukakis, how they did Carter when he was running for a second term. One of their favorite tactics is to portray the Democrat as weak. They did it to Dukakis, Mondale, Carter, McGovern, Humphrey, Stevenson. They probably did it to Truman and FDR but I wasn't around then. Another tactic is to paint the Dem as "elitist." Over and over, the same old same old.

Open your eyes, people, they're doing it again!!!

I'm all for being positive about Kerry but all this talk about what a great game of chess he's playing is giving me the willies. I see nasty right wingers slinging mud and Kerry denouncing an ad defending him!!! What is the man thinking???

Please, John Kerry, we need you to win.

10. and by denouncing the ad...
Kerry denounced his surrogates who just started talking about Bush's legacy escape clause to Vietnam.

This has disappointed me very much.

Hope top notch surrogate Wes Clark doesn't tire of this crap!

than the real Democratic Stategists have done in the last couple of elections.

Maybe you forgot about 2002?

We all waited for the secret Democratic plan.

The secret plan turned out to be to accept defeat and kiss Bush's ass right up until their Republican replacement took office.

You cannot blame people for not trusting the Democratic Party after what we've seen in the last few elections!
