Faux News's Mara Liasson does NPR hit piece on Obama -
Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 03:52 PM by sparosnare
with some help from Leon Panetta and Bill Carrick. I heard this on my way to work this morning. Mara Liasson moonlights on NPR, however they never reveal she slums around Faux News as her regular job - permanent fixture on The Capital Gang.

In the piece, they wonder if Obama has the temperment for a GE, say he has clay feet and also wonder if he can gain the support of just about everyone in the Democratic Party - working class whites, Latinos, Jews, etc.

I really don't get why Panetta and Carrick would participate in such a clearly slanted report.

Ultimately though, I had to laugh at the absurdity of what they were saying. Have they looked at the competition? ;-)

Here's a snip (you can even listen at the link if you have the stomach for it):

Dissecting Obama's Vulnerabilities for November

Carrick also worries about Obama's uneven performance in debates, particularly the last one in April in Philadelphia against Clinton. When he was hammered by both Clinton and the moderators, Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos of ABC News, it was a preview of the type of fights he will have to endure for the general election.

"He's going to have to get better at debating than he's been in the primary process," Carrick says. "He's also going to have to figure out how to pull himself out and put himself in drive mode and be consistent everyday, which is tough. It requires a mental and physical discipline that is unlike any other experience people have."

Republicans Taking Notes on Obama's Weaknesses

Given that McCain is facing the worst political landscape for a Republican since Watergate, GOP pollster Glenn Bolger is relieved to find out that Obama may have feet of clay.

"Clearly, some of the bloom is off the rose on Obama," he says. "He's not walking on water right now, like he was a couple of months ago. He seems to be annoyed by some of the demands of the job of campaigning."

6. People, people, people. Don't give money to NPR affiliates.
If you pay to support right wing media, you get what you deserve.

Give your money to worthy INDEPENDENT media, such as DemocracyNow!

8. Seconding that -- NPR has been in the Republicans' camp for at least a decade.
They lived for a long time on our warm feelings from the
eighties, but meanwhile, they were shafting us with the
Heritage Foundation, the Hoover Institute, and the CATO
Foundation.

11. Do we have Email addresses for Leon Panetta and Bill Carrick?
We need to start communicating with these folks, instead of just passively reading about how they are skewing the PR around town.

We can be of assistance to the Obama campaign, if we actually participate as opposed to watching the circus as it comes to town.

14. I can't even listen to the National Petroleum Network anymore...
It is hideous. I've stopped giving them money. They USED to be decent.

Obama has "a feet of clay"? He got upset at the Philadelphia charade of a debate about flag pins and crap? Give me a break.

16. NPR did another one tonight
on All things Considered

focus was the Evangelicals and someone from the CBN ( Christian Broadcasting) was discussing with Michele Norris Obama's visit with 30 Clergy yesterday - he was very positive about it and the NPR reporter kept pushing Obama's pro choice position and how hard this would make it for him to get support from Evangelicals - very slanted reporting
