Poll question: As far as selecting a VP nominee goes, there are several theories in play.
1. Balance the ticket geographically- North/South, East West, etc.

2. Balance the ticket politically - Left of center/ center, non-DLC/DLC, old voteers/young voters etc.

3. Balance the ticket by temperment or personality, good-cop/bad cop, stateman/hitman etc.

4. Go for broke by selecting the VP to insure winning on eof the big elctoral college states.

I would tend to think that these days balancing the ticket politically is the most important factor. If the candidate attracts groups A,B & C, the most useful VP is one who attracts D,E,& F

6. Republicans choose VPs as impeachment insurance. Maybe Dems...
should choose VPs as inside-job CIA assassination insurance. If Kucinich is veep, the CIA won't assassinate Obama.

7. Balance it with someone from the left...for a change.
We've had (at least) 22 years of conservative/moderate presidents and VPs.

How about a minor change in the formula to put, at least, one liberal on the ticket.
