The lady has spoken.
And she said: Support Obama.

So here I am at your service, ready , mounted, and armed!

Congratulations, Senator Obama, Democratic candidate for the Presidency of the United States!

4. Me, I'm still a bit confused ...
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 09:26 PM by NanceGreggs
We've heard for months that this would end when the fat lady sang.

Instead, we got this incredibly attractive woman, not singing but speaking words of absolute perfection - and she brought the house down!!!

Just as an aside: Have you noticed that our little applause emoticons have been saying "HILL-A-RY!" all day today?

:applause: :applause: :applause:

7. I always said I would stand by her as long as she was in the fight
I had, and have, full confidence in her.

I knew that when the time came, she would know what the best move would be for her, for the party, for the country, and for me.

I never had a single negative thing to say about Senator Obama, so I have no problem supporting the Honorable Senator from Illinois!

9. I have no doubt she appreciates your support ...
... and that of everyone else who stood behind her all along. That sentiment really came through in her speech today.

10. going independant here
The reason her supporters were so steadfast was she was the strongest candidate. When push comes to shove the undecided voters pick the safe bet. The most experienced or the old man usually. Obama is young, inexperienced compared to McCain and very, very liberal. McCain will win by a thin margin due to the nervousness of the undecided voters. Clinton could have beat him. Every Clinton supporter I know says, "I dont really know him well" and these are Democrats. What will the fence sitters say? I will not vote for him unless she is the VP candidate. I will vote independant or not cast a vote. I was treated so badly on this and other Democratic forums for being a Clinton supporter I have lost faith the the party I thought was all about tolerance and fairness. It was as bad as a Right Wing hate forum sometimes. Senator Clinton was called ugly, sexist names and so was I, a Democrat, by my own party. I think that Democrats are so mad about losing the last two elections that they hate everyone who disagrees with them. I count about 20 of my family and friends who are leaving the party now or just not casting a vote because they were treated so badly by their party. I was ashamed of how Senator Clinton was treated and no one here came to her aid. "Iron My Shirt" on a sign as she spoke? If the sign said "Shine My Shoes" at an Obama event all hell would have broke lose. The ugliness of the Democratic party has doomed them to another loss.

13. Obama has more legislative experience, Hillary more political.
And yes, name recognition was a good reason many voted for her in a democratic primary. Even towards the end.

We need to grow as a party. We've had little organization for many years, and need to build one election at a time. Obama has wonderful leadership and temperament to pull this off, and create a positive face for the Dems. Lead the world which is waiting for him.

Fairly ot not, Hillary had high negatives which have grown with her kitchen sink approach.

Let's hope she can repair that damage for herself and the party, bring home a win for all.

14. More gloom and doom, from a real Democrat.
:sarcasm:

If she were the strongest candidate, she would have won the nomination. Please accept reality, even if you don't like it. We all have to work together to get a Dem into the WH.
