Today would be a good one for some self-congratulations .......
..... for all Democrats.

We broke two huge barriers over the last few months.

We passionately supported a black man and a woman for the presidency.

Our leading candidates were a black man and a woman.

The last two standing were a black man and a woman.

History was made.

I listened to Hillary Clinton's remarkable speech. She nailed it when she said that never again will the serious candidacy of a black man or a woman be remarkable.

There is one last barrier to be broken.

A gay person needs to run.

I am so proud to be a Democrat.

4. Thailand has had one and possibly two gay Prime Ministers
It generated no discussion - there was one brief and comical moment when one politician remarked publicly that MP Pramoj was gay (he was married and had one son but everyone in the country knew that he was gay) he responded that if the accusing MP would kindly loan him his wife for a night he would be happy to prove to him that he was not gay. That ended any further public discussion of the topic.

He had first played the role of Prime Minister in The Ugly American with Marlon Brando
