I love this idea. Democracy for Missouri's Bill Monroe's yard sale raised a lot of money. He has great pictures up at this site.

SNIP..."By simply advertising around town, we drew crowds of people all day long. Many visitors threw in extra dollars for our junk in order to "Junk Bush" this November. We had home grown literature on both DFA and MoveOn at the sale table and free bumper stickers for buyers.

A local Democratic Party activist was able to sign up 35 new volunteers to work for Kerry on the precinct level. Signs we posted in the yard for Linda Jacobsen for Congress netted her some visibility and support. All in all, this was an amazing outpouring of money and hearty support to send Bush back to Crawford, Texas.

Its easy to do an event like this... especially in a special year for raising money to defeat the Republicans. (A "Kerry Car Wash" here, conducted by one family of Kerry supporters netted $700 in one afternoon.)"
