A letter DEMANDING Hillary as VP?!?!?
How DARE they 'demand' anything.

At a moment when Democrats would be expected to be rejoicing over the historic significance of Obama’s victory, any sense of joy seemed to be drowned out by competing messages from factions of lawmakers who have been warring for months.

In one corner of the House, female lawmakers such as Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-Ohio) were planning to write a letter demanding that Clinton be on the presidential ticket.

“There are a lot of members of Congress who feel this way,” Wasserman Schultz said. “That way, we can maximize party unity and the odds of winning the election. They balance each other out in every way. They’re the dynamic duo. They really are.”

Don't they realize they are actually HURTING Hillary's chances? By publicly doing this they are putting Obama into a position where he flat out CAN'T put her on the slot because then he would look weak. They seriously need to take a step back and realize the stupidity and arrogance of their actions.

1. They support someone that needed an intervention to understand she lost
Do you expect her hard core followers to be more rational?

4. not going to happen. Obama can't properly vet Hill and Bill because of financial dealings
he wont release a list of his donors to his library and that makes him a HUGE liability.

Obama doesnt need to be saddled with the Clintons. Already this week, Bill, his penis, and Gina Gershon have been in the news. 8 Years of Bill's penis being fodder for the right wing talkers and repiggies is enough.

5. they may not be trying to help her become VP. they may be trying to elect mccain.
they know that this sort of "demand" leaves the obama campaign in a double bind. if they gave in to the "demand" they would risk looking weak. if they don't give hillary the VP slot, it's just one more thing republicans and die-hard hillary nuts can point to when they try to convince people not to vote for obama.

it doesn't matter what its intention is. that is its function. (and probably its intention too)

6. People want what they want and don't really consider the consequences
I fear and always have that with Hillary on the ticket Republicans would be energized beyond belief...why do you think they wanted her to win?

Clinton supporters back off plans to pressure Obama

My colleague Amie Parnes reports that Clinton supporters in congress have shelved plans, reported here yesterday, to write a letter to Obama pressing for a joint ticket.

“Several Members of Congress considered a letter written to both Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton, underscoring the need for their partnership and the unity it would bring to the party. It was felt that the letter was being misconstrued as a demand on Senator Obama and we've decided to communicate our views informally," said Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was organizing the campaign, in a statement.

13. If by any chance HRC get the VP slot, I hope not, then we are going to
have 3 presidents, 1 legal, a VP that can't accept to be #2, and one that can't sit on the sideline.

This is comedy as well as tragic.

14. Unity: a shotgun marriage?
Trying to force the issue is just making the part more divided, more polarized. Even if Clinton were chosen by the ticket, the rhetoric needs to cool down first.

17. I would think not and Hillary has no one to blame but herself for NOT applying critical restraint
when trying to score political points against Obama in this campaign. She took the chance and let the genie out of the bottle but now reality is settling in realizing she CAN'T take back those belittling choice of words lobbed against Obama which WILL & ARE currently being used against Obama in an RNC ad. She knew exactly what effect her choice of words against Obama would produce with her supporters rather than show some restraint to another party colleague - she opted to take the ' slash n burn ' road of destructive politics. Wake up! She is who she is and her colors won't change......she is showcasing her true nature starting with her speech NOT acknowledging Obama's historic win. Thats NOT the mark of a SMART woman we keep hearing about. From my perspective, it sounds more like a woman who's only interested in HER OWN successes on paper and quite frankly, more concerned about how historians will frame the 2008 Democratic Primary Race events between her and Obama labeling it as ' The Greatest Political Upset Of This Century '. Nobody wants to be remembered as the biggest loser in history who fell asleep at the wheel and didn't wake up until they were driving over a cliff. I would love to see a woman president sooner rather than later and believe without any doubt, there are MANY sharp, talented, smart and politically savvy women throughout this nation who can lead by example by showcasing the best in ALL OF US at solving the collective problems of the many instead of the business-as-usual for the wealthy few.

16. why? The arragance she displayed toward Obama after he got enough delegates
sure doesn't speak well for her, and in fact indicate that she doesn't have the temperment

The way she ran her entire campaign demonstrate why she should not be vice president
