Warner says Kerry deserves medals
I didn't see this posted yesterday anywhere. Did I miss it?

"Sen. John Warner, an ex-Navy secretary under President Richard Nixon, particularly defended the process by which Kerry won his highest honor, the Silver Star.

"I'd stand by the process that awarded that medal, and I think we best acknowledge that his heroism did gain that recognition," Warner (R-Va.) told CNN's "Late Edition."

Kerry was awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Hearts as a Navy Swift boat commander in the Mekong Delta in February and March 1969.

"We did extraordinary, careful checking on that type of medal , a very high one, when it goes through the secretary," Warner said. "I feel that he deserved it." Like Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Nixon - both Navy vets of World War II whose war service was later questioned - Kerry has had to face recent allegations in TV ads from others serving near him in Vietnam claiming that he lied about his combat heroism."

1. Smiles----Warner is one of the people Kerry listed as a possible
Sec. of Defense. There were a number of other republican polticians thrown around for other jobs, etc. and, hopefully, they will start to undercut Bush as they strive to get a big job under Kerry. Personally, I wouldn't give any of them the job of even cleaning the bathrooms in the White House!!!!!

4. I don't know
I mean I can understand the emotion; but I can also see the wisdom in trying to return to bipartisanship with those few Republicans who we can work with. Otherwise you are going to have two parties in which the only way to get ahead is to attack the other one as viciously as possible.

And you think voter turnout is bad now.

6. What site do you go to
I'm at a website that is for AFCE-rivals in general and most people are opposed to Kerry. Are you at GangGreen or JetsInsider?

3. I don't remember seeing this one posted here...
but it confirms that these "smear boat vets for BushCO" are full of shit...

I keep asking righties...that quote these losers in regards to Kerry's medals...if the United States Navy is lying...if Kerry is lying then the Navy must be also...but they say nothing...they clam up...

this is going to be a dead issue very soon...it has already started to fade away in some respects...

7. Vietnam war crimes
"Fog of War"

He (McNamara) ponders whether, if the U.S. had lost World War II, he and the others who planned the firebombing of Japanese cities would have been put on trial for crimes against humanity. He suspects that he would have been in the war-crimes dock, along with Gen. Curtis LeMay and others, as a result of Operation Rolling Thunder in Vietnam, when the U.S. Air Force dropped more bombs in that one campaign than were dropped in all of World War II. (He asks a good question: "What makes it immoral if you lose and not immoral if you win?")

8. some of these republicans
are coming to kerry's defense because they know what's going to happen if this story stays out there -- it's going to bring BUSH/AWOL out and NO ONE on that side wants that.

9. Good for Warner

While John is no Liberal, he looks like damn Ted Kennedy when compared to George Allen.
