| Obama backs Lieberman against the wall (confronts him on Senate Floor) |
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 06:39 PM by rndmprsn
http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/15766.htm... Joe Lieberman, fully embracing his role as a Republican attack dog, took the lead in a GOP conference call this morning to attack Barack Obama’s Middle East policy. On the call, organized by far-right Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), Lieberman argued, weakly, that Obama holds the U.S. responsible for Iran’s strength in the region... ...Obama, apparently, didn’t care for Lieberman’s comments, so much so that the Democratic presidential nominee confronted Lieberman directly on the Senate floor this afternoon. Subscription-only Roll Call reported: During a Senate vote Wednesday, Obama dragged Lieberman by the hand to a far corner of the Senate chamber and engaged in what appeared to reporters in the gallery as an intense, three-minute conversation. While it was unclear what the two were discussing, the body language suggested that Obama was trying to convince Lieberman of something and his stance appeared slightly intimidating. Using forceful, but not angry, hand gestures, Obama literally backed up Lieberman against the wall, leaned in very close at times, and appeared to be trying to dominate the conversation, as the two talked over each other in a few instances.

it would be funny to see Lieberman get the shit kicked out of him.
I know, I know... that isn't Obama's style. Still, I like to fantasize.
| 4. Betcha Holy Joe had to go change his panties after that discussion |
I don't think Obama is going to be one to take a lot of shit from these losers.
Joe is an independent and needs nothing from Obama. Obama one the other hand, needs his vote.
| 119. Not that vote. He can just get a different one. |
There is this thing called a filibuster, and you need 60 votes to overcome it...
Get it?
Obama needs his vote for what? There's gonna be a Dem landslide in the Senate in the Fall and Joementum will be losing any clout he had. Even the Repubs think that the Dems get more seats om Congress.
Kick his whiny little ass Barack!

Hey katerinasmommy nice to see you here and I agree heartily with no need for Joe. One DUer had a discussion with Lieberman and said of him "he could have used a Mentos (halitosis)" So maybe its JoeNoMentos.
| 144. Thanks! Good to be here! n/t |
| 219. Fact is ... IF it works out ... |
Does Joe Lieberman want president Obama running around campaining for Ned Lamont in four years ???
Joementum is a little itch that, HOPEFULLY is going to get scratched one of these days ...
| 229. Well since Lieberman ran as under a different banner after losing the Dem primary |
There is no reason for any Democrat stumping for Lieberman.
And that would be so sweet!
Depends if Dems get to 60 in the Senate. If they do, I agree--Joe is toast. If they are at 58 or 59 though, Joe becomes more powerful than ever.
| 143. Obama needs Lieberman's vote? For what? |
| 165. He won't be getting it in the general election |
So for what will he need Lieberman?
Hopefully, we will also increase our majority in the Senate by a strong enough margin to make him as inconsequential as he deserves to be.
Edited on Fri Jun-06-08 11:36 AM by Nederland
There is this little thing called a filibuster you see...
| 150. No he doesn't. Plus it's clear Lieberman will be siding with the Republicans. |
He's CAMPAIGNING with McCain right now!
Why do we need him? He's already on the other side, he's too far gone.
| 153. Lieberman has essentially switched parties. He's a Bush toadie. |
He needed to be told to back off and sit DOWN! Looks like Obama did it.
he switched. Come to think of it, he looks a little like Jar Jar Binks who was used by the Dark Side for his vote.
| 162. Joe is independent only in the sense that his first and |
probably 2nd and 3rd priorities are soley Joe. He is virtually independent of any conscience or concern beyond what he perceives as good for Joe.
| 166. thats like saying he wont get Tom Delay's vote |
| 180. Joe can lose all his committee standings after November. |
Obama isn't getting his vote anyway, so Lieberman's rank as a majority committee head can be stripped by the Dems.
| 223. After November Joe's power will be gone. |
The only reason he has any power after tacitly stabbing his voters in the back, is because the Senate is tied. Once the Dems have a majority larger than one (including Lieberman as R-Conn) he will be treated as the scum bag he is.
| 228. Independent my ass!! Excuse my thoughts about Lieberman. |
| 208. I'll bet they were talking Climate Change, but not necessarily the Climate Bill. |
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 11:54 PM by The Village Idiot

| 5. What else can I say but "I so have a man crush on Obama right now". |
| 225. I'll make it 3 for 3.. |
Get 'em Barack! If Liarberman thought he could front off Obama on radio and not have to come correct later, he had another thing coming. They better not take Obama's kindness for granted or as weakness. He is from Chicago after all.
GOBAMA!
| 7. About time Holy Joe got a talking to |
| 135. OMG McBushCain might make Joe L his running mate! |
I expect McBush will need Joe to nudge him every hour.
| 8. He'll probably tell everyone Obama intimidated him... |
| 129. No this would be good ... |
Obama being intimidating would be good for his image. Faux News will probably spin it as him "deranged" or "erratic".
| 9. I wonder if Lieberman hates what he has become? |
I tend to think not, as self-absorbed jerks rarely do.
| 25. He cares not, NoMoJoe is more important than the people he 'represents'. |
| 173. The term I was looking for was "a tool" n/t |
| 177. And that makes him more of a traitor than his switching from Dee to Eye |
| 11. I used to worry that "unify America" meant being nice to Repub attack dogs |
Guess that isn't the case, thank heavens.
| 12. If there's anything more disgusting looking than Joe Lieberman, please inform me right now |
It's bad enough that his last dentist switched his upper teeth with his lowers, but why the fuck doesn't he use a little whitener instead of flashing those grimacing things in our faces everytime he pukes his BS on TV?
| 58. Actually there is, McSame is even more disgusting. |
Imagine having to look at those two if Holy Joe is crowned as McSame's veep.
| 145. Dick Cheney is far more disgusting... |
I don't think he's human.
| 222. but ya have to give Cheney his props for |
loyalty to his party, if nothing else.
LIEberman, on the other hand, is despicable on so many levels: spoiled loser who went independent, Israel firster, traitor to his party, whiner... a truly loathesome little weasel.
| 204. The Chimp in Chief awarding the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously. |
About fucking time that scumbag Lieberman was taken to the woodshed.
GOBAMA!!!!
| 15. That's the kind of candidate we need! |
One that calls them on their BS immediately and personally. Holy Joe will probably think twice about pulling a farce like he did again.
I want Barack on my side.
'"literally backed up LIEberman against the wall' Oh Jeeze, now that song, 'Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother' is stuck in my head. Crap!
| 60. "Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother" is a real song? |
ROFL, I hadn't heard that. Sounds hilarious, but I'm not sure I really wanna know the lyrics!
| 65. Oh you must be kidding |
| 136. This is the version to watch |
Better sound quality, and funny background images during the song. Plus a message from President Willy Nelson at the end.
Jerry Jeff Walker / Ray Wylie Hubbard
And it's up against the wall Redneck Mother, Mother, who has raised her son so well. He's thirty-four and drinking in a honky tonk. Just kicking hippies asses and raising hell.

back to the politics all of you!
| 118. yes, the rest of the world is wrong and you're right. |
There, we've settled that. Let's move one.
| 105. I absolutely hated Lord of the Rings. nt |
| 169. Seen? It was actually a book trilogy first |
The movie is a pale imitation (at best) of the original.
| 221. The books were published in 1950's. Much has been said about the |
possible connection between WW1 and WW2 and the similarities in plot in the Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy.
I can tell you, as along time fan of the books, I very much looked forward to full length adult oriented non-animated versions of the tale.
| 27. That is a fitting comparison. lol |
although someone observed that Harold Ickes looks an awful lot like Wormtongue, and I think that was spot on too.
| 116. Bwahaha too true too true |
I have a more Gandalf the White vs. Grima Wormtongue image. Posted by Liberal Veteran "Be silent! Keep your forked tongue behind you teeth. I have not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm!" WTG Obama!
| 19. For all the doubters: 'Unity' has never meant 'with the people trying to divide us.' |
Rather, "unity" means "uniting the majority of Americans against the people trying to exploit division."
Joe Lieberman, for instance.
| 35. That realization was one of several things |
that turned me from a "soft" Obama supporter to a strong Obama supporter.
| I think reading the OP of this thread just did it for me. |
| 181. I think reading the OP of this thread just did it for me. |
Nor is "unity" about compromising our principles.
It *is* about an attitude, a willingness to hear people of differing opinions out. And obama, I think has already demonstrated that that's his style.
But Lieberman has no idea what the term means.
| 48. You may need to post that as a separate thread! |
Excellent, excellent point! I'm so glad we have a conclusive and current example that everyone can understand to refute that line of B.S.
| 74. Thank you, that needed to be |
| 163. DING DING DING We have a winner!!! Exactly right. |
Man, stop stealing my mind-thoughts....
| 210. Isn't that the truth? |
That's what I've seen all along. Obama hasn't gotten this far without being tough as nails. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
| 22. Wasn't Holy Joe a mentor to Obama in the Senate? |
I thought there was a personal friendship there.
| 28. Not this shit again.... |
Every new member of the Senate is assigned a "mentor". Do you need me to explain how that works, or can you put on your Big Boy pants and look it up for yourself?
| 29. Joe was assigned to be Obama's "mentor." Every incoming Congressman gets |
a veteran to show them the ropes--where to go, where the offices are, when to be where, etc. They don't get to pick. The two never had a relationship closer than a few days of, "So Harry Reid's office is there, and that's where my office is, and this lunch bar serves a great chicken salad, and..."
Any claims that Joe was a mentor in anything but name, or that the two had a working relationship past Obama's first several days in office, is either misled or is misleading.
| 152. what you want to bet 90% of the time |

| 23. lol Obama using the Johnson treatment.... |
| 95. That was my thought too! Channeling LBJ! |

I hope Obama made him his bitch.

| 44. This article has one photo from today's "conversation" |
| 72. LIeberman is soiling his drawers. |
| 90. LIEberman is SCARED! I've studied body language and he's shitting bricks.. |
there's a frightening blacka man who has real power in his face, probably telling him, "I'm taking over shrimp, and I got 40 More just like ME (Democrats) gonna be Flooding this place, right here in the Senate alone.. Your time as a goddam yellowdog is Through bub.. No more, 'oH gee, what if Joe throws Congress to the Republicans' - that shit ends today.. So from now On when I say SHIT all I want to hear from you is 'How Much?' and 'wHat Color?!'.. Get it? I knew you would.."
I LOVE This Guy! No Bullshit, and about damn Time!
GoBama!
| 183. I think you're spot on Symbolman |
this man Obama has the masses and now the power, and he doesn't seem opposed to using it. I like I especially like the first one he picked out of the crowd. Hope he does a little more leaning on the dem congress critters too.
we need a Sane and Just person taking these creeps out behind the woodshed and tanning their asses, this nearly a religious experience that I've longed for, as have others it appears.. You can tell that Joe knows that he just stepped in some shit that he wishes he never started.

Obama, "Listen you little shit from now on when I say jump you f***ing jump ... because your days as a whining little turd are over."
Joe L., "ah ah ah ah please don't hit me."
Obama, "Now when the press asks if anything happened what are you gonna say?"
Joe L., "We were just talking .... nu nu nu nothing happen ... Barack"
Obama, "That is Senator Mr. Obama to you Joey."
Joe L., "Yes, sir Senator Mr. Obama .... can I change my underwear now?"
| 32. That goes a long way on my Obama meter. |
That's the kind of post I like to see/hear! For the FIRST time I can say..GO OBAMA! Pat's self on back!
| 34. There you go Auntie Bush..... |
coming right along.
He's gonna make you proud in not too soon. You'll see. He will be like none you have experienced before. Just watch and listen. He's brilliant in the art of good politics.
| 49. I 'm sure you are right! |
I don't see how we can go wrong with a super majority veto proof congress. We should be able to get liberal legislation passed to out hearts content and that's exciting. I'm sure he'll go down in history as the greatest president ever! I just wish it was a woman! And it's been hard to take all the Hillary bashing on DU. We didn't have to experience that when Clark was running and leaving...and that was tough enough to let go. My hopes of a Hillary/Clark ticket have been dashed and he's not mentioned often as a possible VP for Obama...double whammy! The fact that he was a Hillary supporter doesn't help. I'm trying to warm up and I have faith he'll be a great president...but it's been difficult and I can't wait for all this fighting to be over. I just need more time and I'm still in mourning. Remember how it was?
| 62. I remember. And I remember when Clark endorsed Kerry & went stumping right away. Wish Hillary would. |
It took me a while to accept that, but seeing Clark work his butt off for Dems all over makes me admire him even more. Take heart though, Clark is mentioned pretty often I think. I think he and Obama would make a great team. Both brilliant!
| 66. Hillary will...count on it! |
| 86. He really did have to hold back on that kind of thing in the primary |
I was concerned that he might keep it up afterwards. Apparently not, and good for him.
| 33. Thanks for the good news. |
| 37. Obama appears to be giving him the stank eye in those pics. |
| 57. Man, I wouldn't want to f*** with Obama. |

Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 03:13 PM by Chulanowa
EXACTLY the look Joe deserves. Fucking mole rat.
| 184. Notice Obama's body language |
in the second pic with McCain & Lieberman. That is a very closed posture....it says "you aren't getting your way if it's up to me" type of message. Saw it on my Dad a lot.
| 230. Based on those looks. Something might had happened before this. |
It looks like there might had been a moment that really ticked off Obama about Lieberman.
| 38. Typical angry black male |
(only kidding, people - don't hurt me!)
| 39. Says it was heated, but not angry. That's Obama for you. |
No shock Barack, no drama Obama.
| 41. He is a class act all the way... |
I wish I could live up to his example, but damn, it's hard.
| 160. Would you want to face him when he's angry! Pass. |
| 40. There you go again, talking to our enemies. n/t |
| 43. Obama lecturing Lieberman on the new realities of his position |
President Obama + serious Democratic Senate Majority= Joe Lieberman's political castration.
And after what the fucking scumbag did to those victimized by Katrina by refusing to have hearings, he should be run from government like the human sack of trash that he is.
| 51. Awesome. I'm picturing an LBJ moment. |
| 63. You read my mind, Hatalles! |
LBJ was notorious for using his height and bearing to impose his will on people he had to bend to his way of thinking. I first read about this in Robert Caro's brilliant LBJ bio series “Master of The Senate”. The move was called “The Treatment” and LBJ could wield it like a pro. He would just get in your grille and sometimes in a friendly way—sometimes not, just kind of intimidate people who needed persuading. The Treatment One: The Treatment Two: The Treatment Three: You know Lieberman was seething that the Junior senator has managed to outstrip him so thoroughly in just four years. And I hope to God that if Obama is elected that when Joe comes a' calling with hat in hand, that he finds himself relegated to beyond the gates of 1600 Penn with the chesey Polaroid photo hucksters and bogus Washington Monument miniature salesmen.
| 161. Who's the smaller geezer? |
| 52. I am DELIGHTED that Obama has the guts to confront an asshole like that ... |
Anybody in Liebermann's grill is a friend of mine ...
Yeah: Liebermann voted liberal 90 something percent of the time, but; When it came time to defend the larger ideas, he strayed ....
I am REALLY loving this Obama fella ....
A few months ago in the post office I was chatting with an old White lady at the post office (in line). Because of all the hate at DU, I had the gumption to ask her if she was political and who she was supporting. Her answer was that she liked that Obama fella! Thanks for the memory Trajan
| 77. I used that form of address to highlight THAT kind of attraction .... |
... that Obama will have on gramma's and granpas and other homey types like that ..... My mom might say the same thing ....
And SHE was a Postal Clerk ....
I think the world of Barack Obama, and I deeply impressed with his political acumen .... He ran a great race, and proved his worthiness down the line .... over and over again ....
YEah .. I DO like that Obama fella ....
| 80. Me too. I chuckle everytime I hear it now :) n/t |
| 53. As much as I dislike Joe I don't like to think of Obama doing this. |
It is out of character. Maybe I am being to sensitive.
| 61. You are being too sensitive. LIEberman initiated the conversation. |
From link provided above by another DUer: ... Still, Obama and Lieberman seemed to be trying to keep the back-and-forth congenial as they both patted each other on the back during and after the exchange. ... Lieberman approached Obama for a handshake and a word, and Obama immediately pulled Lieberman into a corner where the two could talk privately. For five minutes the two men engaged in what appeared to be a serious discussion, each wearing somber expressions and emphasizing their words with gestures. After a few minutes, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), sitting a few feet away with Schumer, shouted to Obama to keep his voice to a minimum and pointed to the gaggle of reporters assembled at the ledge of the press gallery. The two continued their discussion, then shook hands politely and even shared a half-hug. ... http://www.myleftnutmeg.com/showDiary.do ;jsessionid=26DF59E8C2A1F15033E136124BBD34AA?diaryId=9723
He might turn Lieberman back into a Democrat.
| 233. Glad Schumer had the sense to warn Obama |
| 220. What would you prefer? Let Joe talk to him from TV highlights. |
Politics IS a contact sport.
What did Bill say if you can't put the suit up and put your protective clothes on, you have no business on the field.
I'd prefer Obama get in most of these people's face than have them blather on a television tube about the fact that he is NOT TOUGH ENOUGH. What do they want the man to do, whip out his package and show the world he is a man?
Please spare me.
There is only one way to deal with someone who constantly barks: give them the opportunity to bite. If they decide at that point they don't want to bite, they can join you or you have eliminated them as a potential ally.
Everyone who is currently complaining at present AIPAC, Hillary---white voters with an emphasis on white women, Hispanic people, and other parts of the Democratic coalition want something specific. The louder they complain, the more likely they are to get face time with someone in Obama's campaign. Then depending on the number of people they can bring along, their agenda will be placed within the heart of Obama's campaign. If not, the change we can believe in might actually exclude them and whatever their interest is.
I just read a thread talking about the Daley machine versus the Clinton machine because Obama is no better than the DLC, we are all naive, and we will be disappointed because there is no real progressive out there.
From my point of view, the real party politics happen behind the scene...what gets covered is what people are willing to say to the public at large. We will never have a glass that sees 100% of the time. The press ability to get the right view has been drastically compromised. I'd be surprised if we even get the picture right 30% of the time.
| 56. He May Have Just Been Delivering A Message From Someone At AIPAC |
We need people of courage to stand up at this moment in history.
| 64. Huh-huh-huh-huh-huh.... |
BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA--gasp---BWA-A-A-HA-HA-A!!
| 68. It's a damn shame he couldn't beat the piss out of him. |
That's what the bastard deserves.
that's exactly what I thought when I read that. I would have PAID to see that fight. Lieberman is a weasel.
| 202. In Oregon, that'll get him 7 years. Mandatory. Even IF he deserves it. |
| 234. Might be in Oregon but rules are different in the Senate |
| 70. The best news I've heard after a very long day. nt |
| 75. Lieberman has turned into the current Zel Miller, (turncoat) |
| 78. Oh I would have paid to see THAT!! |
| 79. If anyone needs a hand delivered invitation to the woodshed, it's Lieberman... |
he is late, and his session is past due
| 81. Obama's position on Israel is not that different from Lieberman's |
There really isn't a great deal of difference between the two on that issue.
| 117. No not on Israel it's not. But on Iran it's quite different. |
Lieberman is with the pukes. Obama is promoting dialogue.
Their approaches to Iraq are quite different as well.
| 83. Obama was "Giving him the business" |
| 84. So much for "Yes, We Can". |
When it comes to DINOS, it's gonna be, "Oh No You Didn't".
I love it.
| 156. New Sheriff coming to town and cleaning house! |
Yup, Obama will sure to do his part to get rid of those DINOS and DLC types that have infiltrated our party.
| 85. WTG OUR LEADER!!!! Time to get the house in order work for the senate folks we real need it. |
| 87. ah, gangland politics |
that will sell well, any video of the encounter?
stop. About time you put up or shut up, and racism is NEVER allowed.
Not in front of ME at least.
Try some Other words, now.
| 195. It's not. It is a commonly used phrase. Stretching back to the 40's |
A quick goggle search will show that.
| 211. A lot of statements from the forties are no longer acceptable |
in common conversation now, I'm 55 and not a PC kind of guy with many black members in my family, and that still sounded Racist to me.
| 227. I don't think it is meant to be. And if any group wanted to take offense |
it should be Italians. As I believe the phrase orginated with the mafia and politicians controlled by them.
| 236. Gangland politics? That is not racist! |
If you think it is you are stretching it too much.
| 96. Tell us all about how you love Joe Lieberman. |
| 110. that you would state that frames what you are perfectly. |
not that it wasn't obvious anyway.
| 122. ah, asshole comment. That will go over well. n/t |
| 91. I wish I could've seen those face flaps quivering. n/t |
| 94. Mark to finish tonight. I feel punch drunk just reading part of this. |
& No, not hungover here. Here's your AMEN, and a K&R.
| 97. they should settle it on the basketball court |
| 99. Lieberman was Obama's assigned "mentor" when he first got to the Senate |
He probably still holds a grudge against Obama for supporting Lamont. Nice to see Obama confronting him face to face!
Your power and influence is fading daily, Joe.
| 101. folks we got a fighter here...the GOP will not know what hit them... |
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 08:08 AM by rndmprsn
a confident, national security democrat named obama is coming to get you john w mccsame!
| 103. Ever hear of the "Johnson Treatment" |
| 167. It's nice being tall |
Helps you win a lot of arguments
| 104. I especially love this because Lieberman is a physical bully |
when he thinks he's picking on a little guy. I was in the audience at the last debate between Lieberman and Lamont. At the end, after the cameras were off, one of the panelists asking questions went over to shake hands, and Lieberman--who didn't like the panelist's questions--grabbed him by the wrist really hard, with the intention of hurting him. (I know the panelist, and he told me about it himself.) He was shitty to Lamont afterwards too. Even from up in the balcony it was obvious he was using threatening, aggressive body language.
| 237. Videos and pics need to be taken when Lbrmn does that. |
| 106. Huffpo reported on this if you'd like a publicly available source link: |
But wait til Fox news gets to spin it for their idiot viewers. Could be trouble.
| 111. And then he kicked Traitor Joe in the balls! ... (I wish) |
| 112. I wish I'd seen that |
I can imagine the sick look on Lieberman's face.
| 113. Why isn't mcBush appointing Lieberman as his VP. it has nothing to do with him being a so-called |
| 114. The campaign has begun! |
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 10:53 AM by Baby Snooks
By the time the conventions roll around, no one will pay any attention simply because the campaign will be in full swing. Including what may be some mean left hooks on the floors of Congress.
Looks to me that despite all the conjecture that Obama doesn't have what it takes to lead the country that he in fact does.
Reality is Joe Lieberman is forever an Independent. Neither party really wants him. And hopefully at this point neither do the voters in Connecticutt. Wonder if Connecticutt allows for recall?
| 121. Obama is a strong man and doesn't appear to take shit from anyone |
he responds to stupid comments and innuendo, unlike many other democrats who's put up with whatever the rabid lunie right was lied about.
| 123. WHY WON'T THE OTHER DEMS TO DO THIS TO BUSH??????????? |
It burns me up. It's easy. They're wrong, they're inhumane, they're illogical. It's easy - confront the fuckers! CONFRONT THEM!!!!!!
| 240. I have been saying that for years... |
I have even emailed some of them many of them are useless...
| 125. I dislike Joe Lieberman |
as much as Bush! I cant stand that piece of shit traitor.
| 128. McCain Better Be Stocking Up on DEPENDS! Obama is going easy on Lieberman! |
Imagine what he's going to do to McCain!
| 130. Interesting place to do this - in front of reporters, other senators and the public |
Sounds like Barack is making sure his fellow senators know who's in charge now.
| 131. Lieberman may be McCain's running mate. |
These two are peas in the same pod. A rancid, pustulous, pod.
| 137. ?!?!!? And he was going to be Gore's VP???????? |
| 141. Hell, yeah. Kick ass and take names. |
Not that we couldn't easily provide a list of the names of asses who need kicking.
| 142. Shakespeare! I'll be Petruchio. Obama's playing Kate.... |
Now, by the world, it is a lusty wench; I love her ten times more than e'er I did: O, how I long to have some chat with her!
Just kidding. Methinks Obama can play any darn part he wants! He's awesome! I love him 10x more than ever. You go, Barack Obama -- rid the room of The Lieb.
In the best of all words, Lieb becomes McSame's running mate. Just the combination of their HORRIBLE voices would scare the bajeebus out of Repub voters -- let alone cause the Religious Right to stay home.
Cross your fingers!
| 146. I hope Joe violently shat himself when it was over. |
| 147. Lieberman is a traitor to the Democratic Party. Get rid of him. |
| 148. I just have to say this... |
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 01:56 PM by TwoSparkles
Obama is such an elegant speaker, and is dignified and fair minded. There are times that I have often wondered if he will be tough enough. It wasn't that I doubted his ability to be tough--but most of the time we see him behaving above-board and with such grace and integrity.
I have to say--HELL YES!!! I'm so glad that Obama can be forceful, and that he's not afraid to haul Lieberman's traitorous, war-lovin, doughy, neocon ass into a corner and verbally kick the shit out of him.
We don't know what was said. However, it's obvious that Obama isn't afraid to tell it like it is and call out someone--even if that person is a seasoned Senator.
I'm so happy to hear this.
We've got our Progressive dream candidate, folks. He's got the courage, wisdom and decency to mop up this huge mess we're in--and take on those ruthless neocon bastards.
Each day with Obama as our nominee--brings promising and uplifting news!
| 171. I once worked for a candidate who was so nice |
that I wondered if he would be tough enough if he got to Congress. Well, something came up during the campaign that I thought was a big problem and I told him about it... I wasn't sure he could fire someone, but after getting all the information, he did. You never know all sides of someone till you've known them for a while. And usually a campaign brings it all out.
| 149. Getting Lieberman off the committees is long overdue... |
perhaps it will happen very, very soon. "O BA MA"
| 157. I bet Obama could even kick his arse at bowling! LOL |
probably told him he will protect Israel if it's attacked and LIEberman is just spreading falsehoods about Obama (big surprise), among other things Barack might have said... Lieberman is grotesque... I will never understand Gore's choice. New Obama & Anti-McSame items - The GOOD Stuff! www.cafepress.com/warisprofitable
| 164. I'll toss in my AMEN to that. |
| 168. He's the new Big Dawg. |
Better shape up, smelly dog.
| 172. Hee...I said the same thing earlier. |
| 175. The description reminded me |
of how I try to dominate dogs that try to dominate my old, weak dog. I get in their face and speak very firmly leaning over them. Haven't gotten bit yet!
| 176. OMG, that's exactly what I said when I saw the snippet of video LOL |
| 238. That's one of the tactics Cesar Millan uses. |
If the dog is violent and in a cage he improvises and places himself over the cage. Top dog bottom dog thing.
| 170. Obama continues to impress. n/t |
| 174. The Winds of Change! |
The conversation might have started like this:
Obama: Sen. Lieberman, I don't know if you've been paying attention but there's about to be a new sheriff in town...
what i was thinking exactly...not this year, not this time.
This man knows just how to take charge. He's showing it now that he's unconstrained by the race with Sen Clinton.
What a refreshing thing to seen - a Dem with guts.
| 182. Excellent , Let the Bitch-slapping begin |
| 185. Didn't Obama support Lieberman when the latter was running against Lamont? nt |
| 187. Yes you can.....AMEN AMEN AMEN..... |
This could be exaggeration by the journalist.
| 191. I think Lieberman has been put on notice. I'm sure it was done "nicely" |
but I'm sure things were put in no uncertain terms. Come January, Joey is going to find his ass without any chairmanships.
| 194. Take the belt off Obama!!! |
| 197. He backed him up AGAINST the wall? Lots of luck, Barack... |
Trying to talk sense into "GOP Joe" Lieberman is like talking TO the wall!
| 198. Awsome!! GOBAMA!! nt |
| 200. This makes me happy ... :-) |
| 201. All and all, he's just another brick in the wall. nt |
| 203. Ok, I've waited quite a while to respond to this thread. But that wasn't presdiential. |
I despise lieberan as much as anyone here. I cannot believe I actually voted for him as my VP. But backing him up agasint a wall? Sorry. That's too bad.
| 205. Lieberman needs to be kept in line. |
| 206. Physical intimidation isn't a tactic I want to see from my president. |
Or friend. Or adversary.
As much as I despise him, that just isn't right.
| 214. it was the infamous obama appeasement mccains been talkin about |
| 207. He will walk the talk to the Enemy. No preconditions. Yep. |
| 213. And from the looks of it, he doesn't mean "Kumbaya" sessions either. |
| 209. Careful Barack, don't mess with "Joementum"! |
When they hang out and go to lunch....does anybody sit with Joe? Or does he have to give Zell a call on his cell?
Obama should have drawn a mustache on Grima Lieberman at the end of the exchange.
| 224. double AMEN. FINALLY someone with courage enough to smack down the facists!!!! |
Lie-berman needed a wake up call from a REAL democrat.
It is awesome to finally have a Dem not just sit back and passively take this shit.
I'm feelin' the hope!
