I just couldn't help responding to this question as I was perusing the pro Hillary sentiment here today.

Hillary Clinton..........hum..............you mean that person who competed in the Democratic primary and lost? And do you mean that person who fomented sexism and racism as a campaign strategy? And do you mean that person who tried to slip in a hateful and disgusting suggestion of assassination? And do you mean that person who cannot find it in her heart to back the presumptive nominee of the party? And do you mean that person who gave misguided credence on Tuesday night to the idea that she still has some chance to win? That's the Hillary Clinton I have witnessed.

ORIGINAL QUESTION: "Didn't Obama win the nomination last night? Isn't that enough for Obama supporters here today?"

In answer to your original question: NO! That is not enough. Not by a long shot. In my forty years of voting I have never witnessed a more ill conceived concession speech like that bilge Hillary Clinton spewed last night.

It's time to go Hillary. Time for you to congratulate the presumptive nominee and most of all....TIME TO SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT!

edit: grammatical

9. there is no victory until we can fight mccain with one voice
clinton merits almost all the ire she is incurring

i was prepared to give ya'all some room to ventilate

but the lies and bullshit victim posturing is far too much

the most important historic victory for working people and minorities in recent history... possibly in US History

and you get to play fucking gotcha games

back to the bin with your disruptive asses

3. Yawn,
They will do it in a way that transfers the least amount possible of her supporters to McCain status. Last night was not that time.

10. No, I mean Hillary who received nearly 50% of all Dem votes.
I mean Hillary who *gulp* won my state.

It's all well and good for the online-warriors to get their digs in, but for those of us who go out there and convince voters, we've got work to do winning her voters over. Work that is made more difficult by people bashing her.

I'm not thinking "poor Hillary", I'm thinking "what do I need to do to get Obama elected". That's why I've been waving the white flag up and down DU today.

12. I think you are missing something Kristi
She's pulling this shit on purpose. She isn't a dumbass or a psycopath. She's playing games and until she's done playing them we can't even begin to talk to her hardcore supporters. The soft supporters from knocking on doors would be happy with both of them over McCain.

13. Here's how I see it...
In Hillary's supporters, you've got the racists and the crazies who have projected Hillary's pathetic campaign and loss on to Obama (and are hopeless) and you've got the Dems who either just flat out preferred Hillary or thought Obama was too much of an unknown.

Hillary's current behavior is going to be unsettling to the latter group and they're going to be looking to move towards Obama en masse. I don't see how being viewed as poor winners and assholes helps that cause at all.

Then there's just a big part of me that thinks paying this much attention to Hillary's antics legitimizes them. Ignore them and they just may go away. The media is just looking for a fight. The Obama vs. Hillary storyline is getting old and, frankly, bizarre. They want to move onto Obama vs. McCain. Let's let them.

14. Till she concedes
I can't try to reach out to her volunteers who have worked other elections. That's why I'm frustrated.

I plan on giving it a week or two after the concession and expect a 50% acceptance rate however I can't begin that process till after she does it.

15. Funny story...
I was at the Philly Obama party last night watching the events unfold. I was talking to *some guy* during Hillary's speech, lamenting what this would mean for Obama's general election bid, party unity, etc. I was actually hand-wringing. And the guy kept saying he didn't think it would matter, let her do what she wants to do, it's only going to hurt herself, etc. Turns out that guy was Atrios. And he's been following this shit for a long time, and has insight into innerworkings that I certainly don't have. So he should know, right? Since then I've felt relatively calm. Hillary has ceased to exist to me.

But I understand the position that you guys are in up there. It's much tougher territory for you and I respect that. I honestly don't see why Philly people can't come up to help. The campaign territory wars can get so weird though. But really, we're going to have an army of volunteers here and there's no reason we shouldn't spread the wealth.
