Caroline Kennedy
is serving on a three-person committee to help Barack Obama in his search for a vice president.

I, for one, consider that to be very positive news. Very positive, indeed.

The talk seems to be that she is "heading" the committee, which only reassures me even more.

9. Unfortunate graphic
The white queen taking down the black king and all :)

Such weird color images in this campaign. Clinton channeling rocky (who lost to the black guy). Clinton urging us to be on the philly (who not only lost to Big Brown, but had to be put down). Just interesting to me.

I've been reading "The Uprising" by David Sirota and there's a section on Montana politics. I'll be seeing Sirota this afternoon at a talk. I'm going to ask him about Schweitzer.

I lived in DC for 40 years (raised there) :hi: and totally agree with you about Holder. Before working in the Clinton (when they were good) administration, he was also a damn good judge in the DC Superior Court. He will be an excellent asset in vetting VP choices.

40. I lived in DC for 15 years after college - grad school & private firm
work. I love to go back and visit the city, but it sure turned me off politics! ;) I did take note of Obama when he spoke at the 2004 convention (we had moved to Texas by then), and hoped he would run. I hadn't seen such an inspiring speaker since Ted Kennedy in the early 80's. He surprised me by running so soon, but thank the heavens above that he did. I can't wait for him to clean house!

49. funny thing
growing up in DC is what gave me the political bug. Used to ride by the White House every day and on Fridays, remember seeing Marine One land on the South lawn to take Kennedy to Andrews and from there to Hyannis. Things were so open then... you could literally walk up to the gates on the east side of the WH or wander freely on Capitol Hill and even in the Capitol building itself.

JFK was my inspiration! So I am delighted with Obama's choice of Caroline to help with VP selection.

Happy days are on the way. :hi::hi::hi:

I'm in SC now... long story, but maybe we'll all meet up in DC in January 2009!

Will Pitt posted an interesting piece about this contest being a struggle for more than the nomination -- it has to do with leadership in/of the party. I'm a "Kennedy democrat." I think that Caroline is an intelligent, insightful person. She will help Obama to make the correct choice.

She had plenty of "experience" in the WH. :bounce:

She was always in the Oval Office.

And she is plenty smart and classy.

I saw her at the UCLA Rally and she is rather shy but extremely gifted.

be part of the committee that chose his VP...my comment was...I guess you know...HRC just lost any chance she had, IF she ever had any...and he is much more savvy than I thought he was...I was already convinced he ran his campaign like a president should...then when he picked a committee of 3 to figure out his VP choices...that showed pure brilliance on his part...his actions are even beginning to impress this way too cynical voter...wb
