why does Kerry tell voters to get him a Democratic controlled Congress ?
many times when kerry is campaigning and speaking with people he tells them his plan for whatever their concern may be . and then he tells them to make sure they also help elect a democratic congress. why do you think he does that ? why is he investing money in congressional races to help democrats win ?

and we need some serious investigations into the corporate crap with this administration.

4. b/c if Kerry is elected, and there's a Republican-controlled Congress....
they will do EVERYTHING in their power to make Kerry's job as President next to impossible.

6. Do you have any understanding
Edited on Mon Aug-16-04 08:10 PM by bowens43
of how our government functions? Do you know how legislation is written and passed? The President can do very little without the approval of congress.

8. No question about it
The Democrats MUST take contol of Congress again.

I'm hoping against hope that Richard Morrison beats "cockroach" Delay and maybe Obama's coattails (not to mention Kerry's) might be enough also to beat Hastert.

11. very good
funny about 10 years ago, I went back to college and took a government course because i felt I needed a refresher. The biggest thing I remember is the instructor said

the government is for the rich, run by the rich. The difference between dems and repubs is the dems care about people sometimes.

Reading Trumans acceptance speech, he said the same thing.

Since then I vote dem no matter what the ads or people say. What they say can be enticing...but what I know is the only ones who care about people are dems

And without dem congress, kerry will be stymied.

But without candidates running in races, we can not win back congress. In ny, there are a lot of uncontested races and how many other states.

15. Many reasons:
1) So he can work with a friendly legislature.
2) So he can get his judicial nominees confirmed (there are hundreds of vacancies due to first their and now our stonewalling; that won't change until there is a pretty clear majority in the Congress).
3) So he won't have to deal with some ludicrous tin foil hat impeachment proceeding that the GOP is probably cooking up right now.
4) So he can get somthing done.
5) Because he believes a Dem Congress is a good thing, in itself.
6) Because he owes the party.

All good reasons. The question is -- why wouldn't he?

16. Look to the Clinton years for proof
If the congress remains in rupub hands, you can expect more of the same attacks that kept Clinton from showing how truly great he could be.
Do you want another presidential blow-job scandal?
