Poll question: Do you believe Dem leadership can, and will if necessary, place very...
...significant pressure on the Obama campaign to choose a VP from a narrow list of names provided by Dem leadership?

And, secondly, do you think they'll use this pressure to force him to choose Hillary?

1. It's too late for that
I think Obama is now driving the bus and we're all along for the ride. It's gonna be fun and it's gonna be exciting.

3. I think that the Dem leadership has lost control over the party
at this point, Obama is calling the shots.
No one tells Obama what to do.

Since I think that the dem leadership has been largely incompetent at all of their responsibilities, I take some perverse delight in the situation

6. I think that the money being siphoned away from the DNC
and DSCC to Obama campaign is weakening them.
They think that the spigot will turn on again now that Obama has won.
I think they are failing to recognize the irate disapproval of Congress includes them

7. It's definitely weakening them
which is why I'm all for it. This is like the Dean phenomenon all over again except that this time, the people won.

I have not one word of disagreement with your last 2 sentences but they're not buried yet. They're trying to outsmart us but I think we're a lot smarter and more determined than Washington fat cats.

5. This party has two leaders right now: Howard Dean and Barack Obama
And neither of them is going to pressure him to put Hillary on the ticket.

8. And now with Carter forcefully saying NO, I think that takes care of things nicely n/t

9. hELL, they don't even have the balls to make Hillary do the right thing. If they can't even do that
for god sake how do think they would have the nerve to tell Obama to do anything.

Look at how afraid they are of Bush. Give me a break.

Would you say the same about Al Gore's selection of Joe Lieberman as a running mate? Do you think that was Al's pick or do you suspect he may have been pressured into accepting Lieberman?

11. I think it was Gore's pick. At the time, from what I remember, Gore was considered a centerist, and
and so was Lieberman. That was before we knew the real Holy Joe.
