Why the one-week waiting time is good
A) Sen. Clinton and her proponents have earned it. This board never officially declared a favorite, but it became de facto an Obama board roughly mid-March. Those who stayed through deserve a week or so of their say.

B) We need a post-mortem to have positive and negative lessons learned. Senator Clinton made inroads I would never have expected in, for example, WV and KY. Let's look... nicely but frankly at the campaigns and see how we can help one another.

C) Is A) again. She earned it. This was one of the hardest-fought campaigns I have ever seen, and you Clinton partisans have earned a week (at least) to kvetch about our nominee. I promise to listen, at least, if not agree.

1. Giving a chance to heal is always the polite thing to do. Of course I know what the rejoinders will
be: BUT BUT she should do the right thing and concede!

3. Without a concession or a release of her supporters
she effectively becomes an independent, as we have a presumptive nominee.

One week.

16. oh lord above some of you supporters of Senator Obama are over the top.
"effectively becomes an independent" "you are not a democrat if you do not support the nominee"

2. You don't have much experience with WV and KY, do you?
I live in northern Ohio. We regularly refer to western PA, KY and WV as "West Pennsyltucky" because it's all the same demographic (actually, southern Ohio is part of it, too).

Without making any value judgments, it's a fact that Clinton was stronger with less-politically-aware rural whites than Obama. Why would the fact that she did better than Obama in WV and KY be surprising?

4. One reason.
Because, as in Puerto Rico and in South Dakota, tonight, the "bandwagon effect" should have reduced her impact in those areas.

8. WV, SD, and KY and Puerto Rico
Why would the fact that she did better than Obama in WV and KY be surprising?

Those areas not rely on the Pony Express to get their political news.

In reality, the fact that she held (and gained) in those areas after the introduction of Math V3.16 says a lot.

People don't like being saddled to a loser. And those folks never considered her one. Good on them.

12. WV and KY don't "rely on the Pony Express to get their political views"? Is that humor?
They're certainly not as plugged in as most of the rest of the country.

10. Indeed, sir.
I'm simply arguing why that is not only reasonable, but an actively good idea.
