Keyes -- Obama's views on abortion are "the slaveholder's position."

Not that this is surprising, but crazy Alan has gone off...

The conservative former diplomat said Obama's vote against a bill that would have outlawed a form of late-term abortion denied unborn children of their equal rights.

"I would still be picking cotton if the country's moral principles had not been shaped by the Declaration of Independence," Keyes said. He said Obama "has broken and rejected those principles — he has taken the slaveholder's position."

'k Capt. Carpetbrain, slavery exisited long after the Declaration of Independence was signed. The Declaration had nothing to do with keeping your dumb ass out of the cotton fields. Besides Alan, you probably would have been working in the big house fetching "massa" his bullwhip.

Equating Abortion to slavery....well, at least it's original. Completely insane, but original

1. Hey, Alan, here's $20--- go buy a clue, dumbshit!
Your carpetbagging ass will be lucky to get 30% of the vote, so who gives a rat's ass what you say about anything?

2. Those zany forced pregnancy people...
...what are Keyes views on capital punishment? How about war? Yeah, that's what I thought. Another conservative more concerned with "life" before birth and after death than they are with the long period in between those two events.

4. Keyes plays the Race Card...
against a fellow African American.

Pro-Choice is the Slaveowners position? I don't think so; I think the slaveowners would have been quite anti choice for the people they considered their property.

explain les gens de colour.

The slave holders postion was that the black women should be pregnant as often as possible, because they bred more slaves.
It is so sad to see a former ambassador (an african american one, no less) with such ahistoricity.
It is a sign of the descent of America into ignorance. Look no farther than the president to see the result of 40+ years of anti intellectualism.

7. Keyes is refering to the democratic party as the slave holders
Edited on Sun Aug-15-04 08:25 PM by Cheswick
He is saying that Obama like most other black people is a slave to the party and has taken it's position on abortion to win (and contrary to the more conservative social ideals of religious black voters).

10. The way I read the article,

The conservative former diplomat said Obama's vote against a bill that would have outlawed a form of late-term abortion denied unborn children of their equal rights.

Meaning......Abortion = denial of equal rights = slavery

11. I have known more than a few African American women
who were pro choice. I don't think that the community as a whole is unified around this issue. Particularly in light of the other pressing issues African Americans face in America.

I even think the African American opposition to gay marriage is overstated. It is as though some conservatives have a wish fulfillment not to be resented by those they systematically oppress. But it figures, they got the poor whites to fall in line against their own interests. It just seems harder to do when there are no African Americans on the right except folks like Keyes whose koolaide stand is pretty blatant.

It'll help Obama's national image a lot more for him to win by 30 points!

9. From a man who thinks Gays are sub-human
Keyes is a dumbass. I watched him on Wolf Blitzer today and he's a bigger psycho than I thought.
