Hmmmmm. Interesting times.

Obama just picked up another SD. He now needs 35 delegates to win.

3. The best message the SDs could send is to get him to within 10 votes by tonight...
...and let the pledged delegates take him over the top.

6. Why bother with elections? If a group
of "delegates" or "superdelegates" choose our president for us we could save a hell of a lot of money and time.

8. The Super Delegates will go with whichever candidate has the most delegates

from the primaries

If you don't like it, then become involved to change the rules

The rules were clear to ALL parties at the beginning of the primaries

12. So, then, that is why we don't need
elections. I know supers will go with the one with the most delegates, but the delegates have chosen for us. Of course the rules need to be changed, and I am involved. I have let them know what I think about it. I am not uninvolved.

13. I didn't mean to imply that you were not involved. I was just stating what came to my mind

and unfortunately, it came out incorrectly assuming things I should not have done

For that matter we should probably get rid of the Electoral College also

However, I do not see either happening very soon

Since the 2000 election very little has been done to insure that our vote counts, and what was done, i.e. voting machines without a record, actually made things worse

14. "The delegates have chosen for us?"
You do know how delegates get assigned right? We've been doing this for 48 freaking states, so you have picked up by now on the fact that they're elected BY us right? So how do you get through this progression:

1. We cast votes.
2. The votes decide delegate allocation.
3. The supers, at the end, decide to vote in accordance with whoever wins most of those delegates and give them the nomination.

4... Our elections, WHICH DECIDED THE ENTIRE OUTCOME, were somehow irrelevant to the process and unneeded.

Please, explain the leap in logic between steps 3 and 4 for me.
