Not bad, gang! I think this state has 14 or 15 electoral votes. It's looking very competitive.

3. Barr can get up to 10% in NC from the bible-thumpers, IMO.
We could really squeak out a win here, if he takes another 3-4% from McSame.

13. His libertarian views may not go too well
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 02:51 PM by 4themind
with religious conservatives, he's against a federal amendment to ban gay marriage, (on the basis of states rights )and he's also had perhaps too many marraiges (and divorces) himself for their likes. I think he will least sap off some fiscal conservatives and I'd be happy with 6% and obama within the M.O.E. combined with a ,hopefully, massive turnout from african americans in addition to other groups.

5. I bet an Obama-Edwards ticket could tip the boat.
Repubs have no chance if we win a Southern state like NC.

23. Edwards is not popular in NC.
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 04:55 PM by Spider Jerusalem
Polling has shown that North Carolinians would be LESS likely to vote for Obama were Edwards his running mate.

I suspect Jim Webb is the likely VP pick; I think Obama/Webb would probably be a strong ticket in NC (not to mention Virginia).

one of the largest states. Baby-sized (kind of... no offense :-)) MT and SD tomorrow have 15/16. In any case - interesting.

15. Nope, looks like NC has 15 electoral votes

Montana and South Dakota have 3 each. I think you are thinking delegates.

18. YES!! Let's try to fight GOP fire with fire
We need to have dozens of people do what republican operatives are doing on some Hillary forums with their "don't write in HRC, vote McCain because a write in automatically goes for Obama" and their "McCain is just like Hillary" and their "Vote for McCain even if Hillary asks us to vote for Obama" garbage extraordinaire.

I will try to do this during the summer, by maybe registering at McCain sites and spreading rumors like "McCain is more liberal than Obama", or "McCain is having surrogates question if Obama is a Muslim or Christian when McCain is the one who is secretly a Jesus hater, so we have to vote Barr".

This is odious behavior in a sense, but fighting their slimy fire with fire needs to be done for once. We keep getting beaten by dishonorable shit and it will never end until we fight back.
