1. Puerto Rico is a must-win swing state in the fall. No candidate has ever
won the Presidency without winning PR.

9. With only 350k people voting, it's not the huge game-changer she hoped for
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 12:26 AM by anigbrowl
A lead of a million or something in the popular vote might mean something, even though PR won't vote in the GE and the popular vote doesn't count in the nomination process. But picking up 120,000 votes or whatever it was doesn't really bolster that argument.

In short, nobody cares.

44. Problem is, Hillary needed 700k to have a shot of taking "the popular vote."
Now, the only way she can claim that is if she counts the MI votes (despite the RBC saying MI wasn't a legit contest), discounts the uncommitted votes (which the RBC declared indicated support for Obama), and doesn't count caucus states. She could have led it outright, but Puerto Rico didn't give her what she needed.

46. Because they didn't have campaign surrogates predicting a turnout of 2 million.
Her campaign hoped for a huge bump in the numbers and didn't receive it. That is all.
