Is Father Pfleger's mocking of Hillary any worse than Hillary's mocking of Obama and his supporters?
I deplore both, and wish Father Pfleger had stayed on the high ground. He mocked her sense of entitlement that she should be president. Then there was Hillary a couple of months ago mocking Obama supporters you know us Koolade drinkers--you remember how the clouds will clear and "celestial choir will be singing..." in a very mocking tone. Did she apologize for that. Of course not.

You Obama people are infuriating. A bird flies over BO and craps on his head and all of you want to blame that on Hillary.

Many of you are absolutely paranoid -- seeing Hillary monsters under your beds or hiding in your closets. If you guys had half the class of Hillary or her supporters, you would stop lying about her (like this OP).

29. Oh my God -- you mean you think THAT is mocking every Obama supporter?
If you do, then the rocks I climbed from under are now in your head.

Unless you are just flat full of shit, kindly explain HOW it is that what Hillary said on that clip you posted: "mocked EVERY SINGLE ONE of Obama's supporters.

I mean specifically. Don't just point at clips and go "waaa, waaa, waaa -- see there!" I mean, use the English language and EXPLAIN to me -- in words -- how you think it was that she did that.

I'll help get you started. "Hillary mocked every single one of Obama's supporters when she .... because that clearly meant .... " You fill in the rest, if you can.

But I bet you can't. Because you're in the wrong. That's why I don't expect an actual "in words" answer from you.

You Hillary-haters can never show any specific examples of Hillary being devious. All you can do is post clips of Her and then tell us what she was thinking, regardless of what she actually said.

Of course, I DO admit Hillary was making fun of the cult-like adoration of many Obama fans in that clip. She was talking about the way they suddenly swoon at his appearance, but hell, I make fun of that, too. I used to make fun of it when 90%-approval-rating George Bush was the Obama of his day.

But I sure don't consider what Hillary said to be 'mocking EVERY SINGLE Obama supporter.

And if YOU do, you're paranoid.

is mocking or insulting either, eh? Good day.

Democrats used to represent compassion and truth, but posters like you convince me that the Democratic Party has been inflitrated by hating, lying, deceitful wingnuts who slander their opponents in order to win elections. A revolting technique, but obviously an effective one.

I defy you to try to back up the nasty asertions (the lies) you made in thie post. Sow me ONE place where HRC said white voters should vote for her, or ONE case where she suggested Obama might be assassinated. By the way, I mean REAL incidents -- the silly, paranoid rattlings inside your own biased head don't count.) Show me some REAL quotes, real statements -- not the mind-reading some of you Hillary Haters try to pass off as political commentary.

Edited on Fri May-30-08 11:16 AM by TexasObserver
I don't get worked up about the mocking that goes on by anyone. It's perfectly normal, acceptable political speech.

I strongly feel that The Era Of Overly Sensitive Feelings has outlived its usefulness, if it ever had any. We went awry when someone invented the oxymoron "verbal assault."

11. Mocking is one thing.
We all draw our own lines about when something is playful mocking, or pointed mocking, disrespectful mocking, well deserved or non deserved mocking etc. The crux of this isn't the mocking tone, it is the overt accusation of racism. It was the assertion that Hillary Clinton is angry BECAUSE a BLACK man is beating her. It boiled their competition for the Democratic nomination down to race, and virtually to race alone.

32. Everthing you cited as fact in you post is nothing but your biased opinion.
Not even an opinion based on substance, but one based purely on emotion.

Negative emotion, at that -- akin to hatred.

It is okay to be ga-ga about Obama because he is just too cool for words.

But it is not okay to make up lies about his opponent, to pretend to read her mind and tell us what she REALLY meant, when she says things that quite obviously mean something else entirely.

If Hillary was saying about your guy what you guys are saying about Hillary, you'd be marching toward her house with torches and a rope.

I don't agree with the comment made by that Priest, and I was pointing out why it is wrong to simply characterize his comments as simply mocking. I also never said that I thought that priest was speaking for Obama in any way whatsoever.

I've gotten it from both sides so far in reply to that comment, lol.

28. WHEN did Hillary say that?? Stop LYING about Hillary!!!
It is a nasty, wingnut, Limbaugh lie to say that Hillary brought up assassination in connection with Obama. She never mentioned him and it is obvious from her remarks that she wasn't even thinking about him when she made her 'primaries sometimes go into June' remark.

The only way anyone could claim that whet she said had ANYTHING to do with Obama is if that person WANTED an excuse to character assassinate Hillary, and would therefore stretch any comment as far as it had to be stretched in order to make it say what the nasty accuser wanted to MAKE it say.

That is bearing false witness. That is a GOP tactic.

It is a good thing that I don't believe most of the pro-Obama posters here are actually Democrats (rather than Republican wingnuts engaged in trying to turn us against one another) because if I believed that the anti-Hillary comments I see on this board were coming from actual members of the Democratic Party, I'd have to resign from it.

22. Inappropriate use of talking points.
I believe everyone is completely within the rules at this point, and the rules on political rhetoric are pretty sketchy anyway, so no, that's not it.

HRC was trying to point out that many Obama supporters may have unrealistic expectations for their candidate, and was therefore urging them to consider the real-world problems and issues that need to be dealt with, not just the poetry of the language. This is a legitimate argument, which can be done more or less skillfully, but I don't think it really bothers anyone except perhaps those who feel a little self-conscious about the nature of their support for him.

Pfleger on the other hand, as best I can tell, was just being mean. I haven't seen the entire sermon, but if there could be a point to the mocking of her crying and calling it fake, it escapes me.

That was one of the stupidest mockeries I'd seen from a pissed off candidate, who couldn't figure out how come she was in second position.
