Hey, Sen. Clinton, 50% of NY Democrats want you to drop out

Dear Senator Clinton,
I realize you want a job beyond the one you currently hold. But if the job interview you've been going through lately doesn't work out, you still have a job you can go back to. Of course, the decision is yours to make as to whether or not to end this present job interview, but you may want to consider the fact that it seems like you are making yourself less popular among important groups of your present employers.
According to Rasmussen, 50% of New York Democrats (you know, the people responsible for the first round of interviews to renew your present contract in 2012) want you to stop interviewing for that other job. Only 16% of New York Democrats want Senator Obama to drop out.
John Campanelli's diary :: ::
I should let you know 43% of New York Democrats want you to stay in. To be fair and balanced, you should know there is a group among the second round of interviewers responsible for your 2012 contract renewal of your present job who want you to stay in the race. Since you seem to like to use Karl Rove (you know, that geeky guy who is part of the clique from around the water cooler with a history of stuffing the office suggestion box with false and scurrilous complaints about you) as one of your references for the new job you won't stop interviewing for, I should let you know that among those in Karl's clique, New York Republicans, 52% of them want you to continue to interview for your new job. But Senator Clinton, you may want to consider that their support for you to continue interviewing may be based on office politics. They're gunning for your job. (And I think they also weren't too crazy about those store bought cookies you brought to the Christmas party this year.)
Furthermore, among all New Yorkers, 47% think Senator Obama would be the stronger candidate for that new job while 43% think you would be the stronger candidate for the new job.
Finally, the time you've spent away interviewing for this new job seems to have made you less popular around the office:
Sixty-two percent (62%) of New York voters have a favorable opinion of Barack Obama while 55% give Hillary Clinton such positive reviews. For Obama, those ratings are up four points from a month ago while Clinton’s are down three points.
Now, I realize you and your husband are baffled by whispers from some people to stop interviewing (and please, PLEASE don't bring up that guy from the 1960s who used to hold your position as reason for you to continue to interview. You didn't win brownie points with that justification.) But this is just a gentle reminder that, if these final rounds of interviews in the coming days don't seem to give you a realistic shot at that new job, you may want to consider going home and mending some bridges before your 2012 contract renewal.
