The Political Preference Test....Are you really what you say you are?
Just for the curious....here is a neat little test to make sure that you are loyal to the correct party. I assume you are, but for the Independents on here, it might be eye-opening.

Have fun!

14. I think so, but there are many possible "good" systems.
And if history teaches anything it is that there is no stable point of rest and that change proceeds regardless of intent, or even of the goodness of one moment in time over the next. In any test there is a desire to answer according to expectations, as well a a desire to demonstrate individuality...anyway, it is late. Thanks for the food for thought!

20. Most of DU sits on the the lower left/left-libertarian quadrant. I know I do. Someone's got a graph.
I don't have the energy to search for it right now.

And it bears reminding (as always when we start talking about the political compass and the dread "l" word) that small-l libertarianism the Philosophy is NOT synonymous with the big-L Libertarian PARTY in the United States.

But it is worth bearing in mind that most liberal Democrats support individual freedom, civil liberties, think waging "wars" to tell consenting adults what they can or can't do with their own bodies (a la the war on drugs) is a waste of time, etc.

Our party leadership and conventional wisdom poo-bahs should take notice. There is a strong streak in the American electorate that wants government OUT of the bedrooms and bloodstreams of consenting adults.

46. Bad questions. They're broad generalizations whose meanings could mean...
several things.

Better for questions to be more specific, in order to get accurate answers. Things are rarely this starkly black or white.

I couldn't even get thru the questions. I found myself saying, "What the heck does THAT mean?" or "Under what circumstances" or "According to who?"

I don't know what I answered to make the social side so low (I thought it'd be around -6), but maybe I didn't understand one of the questions or read too much into them. For example the one about a one-party state having the "significant advantage" of not having partisan blockades is undoubtedly true. I don't agree with a one-party state or think it's a good thing, but that is an "advantage" in the purest sense of the word "advantage."

69. Check the Primaries 2008 page there- of the Dems, the ONLY Left-Libertarian is Kucinich:
http://www.politicalcompass.org/usprimaries2008

The Political Compass website has Obama, Clinton, Edwards, Biden, Richardson and Dodd clustered in the Right-Authoritarian quadrant, though not as far right or as authoritarian as the Republicans.

Gravel is Right-Libertarian.

Kucinich alone is Left-Libertarian.
