and knows what he must do in order to attract his audience.

His show is thematically uneven, filled with the pop-culture news du jour and a sports segment that, if you will, is from left field. His insulting homage to Edward R. Murrow during his ten minute "Special Comment" seemed unique and well-placed at first, but now falls prey to the same bluster he ridicules Bill O'Reilly of spewing. He even looks down to his notes as he signs off with "Good night and good luck," which to any long-time journalist or journalist scholar appears more Vaudevillian than earnest. He is a political tool for liberal politics, which after what we've witnessed over the last ten or more years on Fox News, is an insult to the liberal ethic of a free press for a free people. He knows that opinion journalism has less to do with pushing forth a viewpoint than with attracting an audience of like-minded viewers by feeding them the slanted perspective that they're craving.

Olbermann is no more a showman than David Letterman. It's unfortunate that he's called a "journalist" because he has an hour on a cable news network.

I'm starting to believe that we don't want an independent press at all, but our own version of slanted, propagandistic opinion media.

KO's clarification was in response to RIGHTWING NUTS chiding him for his anti-Bush "Shut The Hell Up" Special Comment, in which he used some words that they DELIBERATELY CHOSE TO MISINTERPRET as being aimed at the troops, and attempted to use to imply that KO "hates the troops."

KO was very hurt and angered by their pathetic attempt to paint him as a troop-hater, so just to make things abundantly clear, he gave another mini-Comment in which he spelled out completely that he was NOT talking about our troops being cold-blooded killers, but rather our administration.

It had NOTHING to do with Hillary or her words AT ALL.

But am I the least bit surprised that one of her supporters is now attempting to use what he said to whip up anti-KO sentiment in order to prop up their failing candidate?
