My statement on Hillary's gaffe/apology/squalling aftermath
I believe it has to remain in the forefront:

There are some tactics so reprehensible and so divisive, that they deserve tougher scrutiny and condemnation than others.
and the more dangerous and destructive they are, they even deserve some ridicule.

I don't believe this in and of itself, if it were isolated, would be the end of her campaign.
The problem is, it is far from isolated, and even though it lowers the bar on what is unacceptable in campaign ethics, it is cumulative on outrage after outrage after outrage from a self-imploding failing campaign.

IF her campaign would have accepted and lived with the consequences, I would avocate letting it go. But the last straw was watching the sunday presser talking head shows and seeing that not only do they blame anyone who felt offended, but they had the unimitigated GALL and HUBRIS to blame Obama.

There is no defense of this, and there no excuse for it. And if clinton supporters cannot stand there and take the reaction this reasonably deserves, then they have no business in politics.

4. I commented on that in another thread, now locked
it would appear, on the surface, to be "open season" on hinting at that.

funny, where are our Secret Service agents when you need them?

11. Some on other sites have talked to Secret Service
Or at least claim to have done so. Right now, they are on the rooftops with high-powered rifles wherever Obama goes.

21. They were on the roof of Viera Stadium,
our local ballpark, for DUH-bya, and the widow's walk of the Porcher House, a local historic site on the Indian River, when John Edwards came to town during the 2004 campaign.

23. McCain has only accepted minimal SS
He instead has private body guards and a minimal detail. He says he won't use them as President either! Doubt that, he took the mini-detail, after all.

5. I was trying to figure out why the Op/Ed today....
Usually when a politician creates a firestorm from comments they made, they make a comment as soon as they realize they need to say something and then they go quiet in hopes it will go away. That did not happen this time, why?

I can only come up with one reason, they WANT this to stay in the public forum, they want it out there. The next question is, again, why?

they are pitching the idea over and over, hoping some nutcase takes them up on it.
that would be one possible explanation.

16. I honestly don't think that is it...
I am beginning to think it has to do with sending a message to the Superdelegates, trying to get them to "play it safe" and choose her over Obama. At first, I think it was simply to try and stop or minimize any movement by them during crucial times during the campaign but it may well have morphed into something else but what I am not yet sure.

6. Let it ride
June 3 is right around the corner. I'm not suggesting you excuse it, but let's let it become a moot point. If you think this was bad, wait until we're facing the Ron Paul 'Revolution' and the full complement of RW nut jobs!

10. Camp Clinton is beyond desperate to keep the new "A-word" meme going
Maybe they think they can finally goad Obama into losing his cool when they provoke him over this.

And still they don't realize the superior smarts of Obama and his campaign...or they're so desperate they're past caring how transparent they are.

Sick, sick crew she's leading.

18. Obama let it play for a day, saying this kind of thing did not belong
in a presidential campaign. Then he said he believed she did not intend any harm.

Robert Kennedy WAS assassinated in June of 1968, that's what makes it even more memorable. If he had survived and not been the nominee, would anyone remember exactly which primaries he was in and if he won or lost them...some people might, it was a turbulent time. The point was that Hillary plans to continue campaigning into June, others have done it, its not unusual. Does anyone remember how long Ed Muskie stayed in the race? Jesse Jackson? Gary Hart? George Bush in 1980? Paul Tsongus? Almost any other that did not get the nomination.

Hillary said what she said, but your interpretation is a fantasy.

Win in November.

"On May 8, 1987, a week after the Donna Rice story broke, Hart dropped out of the race."

According to Wikipedia.

If it doesn't bother Robert Kennedy, Jr., why should it bother you? Are you hearing strange sounds?

PS: Would anyone who sees this message please pass it on to the folks who have me on hold? This may include Lerkfish himself.

Tell them Perry said they can't hide forever.

Thanks.

29. The mediawhores will always be on a WarHog's side.
Only decent thing out of this is there's no way in Hell miss lies her ass off is going anywhere near an Obama ticket.

Who doesn't think Obama already told her that and she's acting out her displeasure?

Stomping her ugly ass feet as it were.

30. Do you have any idea how ugly you are.....
Edited on Mon May-26-08 09:24 AM by liberalcommontater
What is even scarier is that you feel comfortable saying these things assuming everyone here agrees with you.

To rephrase...

The racist black nationalists will always be on BO's side. Only decent thing out of this is there's no way in Hell Mr. Rezco sleeze is going anywhere near a Clinton ticket.

Who doesn't think Clinton has tried to say they are on the same side, but he is just childish and self-centered?

Grinning that ignorant stupid ass grin as it were.

I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THIS. THIS IS AN ILLUSTRATION OR MIRROR, AS IT WERE, SO YOU CAN SEE YOURSELF.
I am for the Dem nominee in November, hopefully Clinton, probably Obama.

Think McFly.
