Clinton campaign left bills unpaid at IU
What a bunch of slime this trio is.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign has moved on from Indiana, leaving behind $55,000 in unpaid bills for campaign events at Indiana University.

The debts are for appearances made by Clinton, former President Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, during March and April leading up to Indiana's May 6 primary.

3. True! They know she is in debt! They know other places have not been paid. Yet they extend credit to
her! They get what they deserve!

2. Oh those crazy Clintons
They always feel like they are above and that someone else should always pay for their bills, taxes and legal fees.

4. It shows that Obama has much better organization than Hillary...
It is hardly fair for Obama to pay his bill when Hillary has gotten by with walking away from hers. I hope she doesn't see that they aren't too concerned about getting paid, or not, as it was good experience for the students.

6. More than that, it shows he has INTEGRITY
It is May 23 and the May Primary bills are already paid. Maybe the Clinton bills will eventually get paid, months from now, and probably at a negotiated discount.

"Integrity" and "Clinton" are two words you won't often find in the same sentence.

11. You might consider adding "Honesty" to that sentence, too.

I was reading the article in Newsweek about Obama's campaign staff and organization and the way he works with his people is beautiful. What a dedicated group.

When I picture Hillary's campaign organization in my mind and the way she probably treats her people, I feel there is probably a lot of tension...constant tension.

9. There are strong political reasons
1) A lot of those bills are at a public university. She is still a Senator who has something to say about appropriations. So having an IOU could come back to the university in the form of a big research grant. Politicians are a different breed.

2) The Indiana Dem Party was backing Clinton strongly. They have A WHOLE LOT to say about the funding at IU.

3) If they would have denied Clinton based on her track record as a deadbeat, that would have created bad press.

4) They come out of it OK, with Obama paying his bills.

12. But that thinking is wrong.
A research grant or any funding because they forgave her bill would put the debt on the American taxpayers.

Obama doesn't owe her anything. She loaned the money (half) to fulfill her own dream. He shouldn't have to pay off her debt just because he was more successful and managed his money more carefully. In fact, I think it goes against the rules.

Fair is fair.

19. If they forgave the debt . . .
It would be like a $55,000 campaign contribution. Illegal as hell.

13. Interesting. She lists less than $20,000 due to Indiana Univ.
on her May report. Is there more debt than they are disclosing ? Or did IU invoice them after the cutoff date for the report ?

15. I assume it was a later invoice
Or additional invoices. If they were only talking about a single invoice from around May 2, the fact that it isn't paid as of May 23 would not itself be damning unless they had an agreement there would be a payment at the conclusion of the event.

My guess is that there are unpaid invoices from April that make the filing, plus additional bills from early May that will be on the May filing.
