Many Conservatives won't vote for McCain
Edited on Thu May-22-08 08:15 AM by not_too_L8
I have two conservative acquaintances who say they won't vote for McCan't. They both think he is a moron, one of them is voting for Obama the other says he's going third party or not voting.

So it appears the repukes have the problem they are trying to project on to the Democrats.

1. I agree; the media has gone on and on about the "types" of people who
will not vote for either Obama or Clinton...you hardly ever hear about otherwise solid conservatives who just can't stand McCain.

2. He doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed.
I really don't see how his experience has informed his debate or positions.

3. I have a good friend who bleeds Republican who will not vote for McCain unless
Hillary is the Democratic candidate. The irony is that with McCain he thinks that it will be like having 2 Democrats running.

4. I've heard the same...
...we have a friend who says everyone that goes to his neighborhood bar will not vote for McCain - they won't vote for Obama or Hillary either - but they really hate McCain.

5. The more exposure of McCain's lack of integrity, the fewer who will like him
Edited on Thu May-22-08 08:05 AM by wishlist
Just in the past two weeks the media has finally exposed much more about McCain that will turn off voters and I believe many who looked at him favorably will reconsider and realize his negatives, from his flip flopping hypocritical appeasement comments to his shady lobbyist handlers to the kooky right wing extremist ministers who have endorsed him. He spoke just in the past week or two about removing Russia from the G8 and limiting participation by Russia and China in upper level negotiations and diplomacy among nations that could move us toward cold war again. His increasingly hard line rhetoric rather than pursuing diplomacy is very disturbing so those Repubs who are not neocon hardliners.
