...it's not just about winning an election. It's about governing.

Having Hillary at the other end of the west wing... and having Bill looking over your shoulder and questioning your every move... is not the recipe for a successful administration.

I contend that Hillary is a General Election Anchor.... whose high negatives would kill any hopes in the General Election.

But even if that were NOT true.... We have to be able to govern when we win. With Hillary and Bill and the circus they bring to Washington, it would be impossible for Obama to govern.

It's like your in-laws helping you buy a house - on the condition that they get to move in with you. You'll get the house...but your life in it will be miserable.

Obama will not ask Clinton to be on his ticket. He wants to win... and he wants to govern after he wins.

1. If she was free from Bill I wouldn't see it as that much of a problem.
But together Bill and Hillary are just one big drama-generating distraction machine.

3. I think it's less about Bill then about her.
She's spent almost 18 months telling anybody who will listen that Obama's not experienced enough and that he doesn't have the judgment for the job.

How does she then effectively take her cues from him as his VP?

Plus, her negatives are too high for her to add any electability to the ticket, IMO.

2. Unless Obama gets much stronger on his own, he'll need HRC
more than ever in November. That's the only ticket that makes sense now.

4. There are a dozen Democrats that would bring in the same voters that Hillary does....

Sam Nunn
John Edwards
Jim Webb
Wesley Clark

...to name a few.

He needs a partner.... not someone who's anti-Obama soundbites will become GOP commercials all fall.

5. On what plane of reality are you talking about, Benny??
He withstood withering attacks from your girl and her camp, stood solid against the Wright "controversy"

and seems to be gaining strength with every passing day.

He needs her like he needs bigger ears.
