Yard Signs. I volunteered in PA and getting Yard Signs from the Obama Campaign was like pulling teeth. They finally got a bunch a week before the Primary but people love Yard Signs. We need to all emphasize that as much as we can with the paid staffers from now till November.

We ended up ordering our own from a Union Print Shop till the shipment came in a week before the Election.

The ones we ordered were actually cooler. They were Black and White and had Obama's picture on them.

6. we've always had problems getting yard signs in my County

It is a small county - Republican by more than 2:1

Our county party is small and doesn't have much $$ we can't even afford a HQ for very long, so we're holding off renting a place until this summer. The campaigns probably know that a lot of small parties are like this and hold off giving them signs b/c they will end up in someone's garage.

But it was a big problem in the beginning. People were asking for yard signs and they never had them in stock. At one point the campaign office was selling them, which I thought was a really dumb idea...it pissed people off that they had to pay for them. I think selling shirts or bumper stickers is ok, but yard signs are usually free, and they should be, because they help the campaign by providing visibility, and they are not really keepsakes because they get messed up with bad weather.

Towards the end they were giving away buttons and bumper stickers and I think yard signs too, but in the beginning they did not have any of that stuff and it was frustrating.
