Even white Democrats had trouble with "hard-working" white Americans
Even Bill Bubba himself lost the "hard-working white American" vote to the archetypal Connecticut elitist, George H.W. Bush. The same thing happened to Al Gore and John Kerry. It's a sad reality that no matter how elitist or anti-working-class the Republicans are, there are some Americans who will not forgive the Democratic Party for the great injustice of giving some civil rights to black people.

Obama is going to win big in Oregon. He's won big in "white primaries" like Wisconsin, Washington, and Maine, and he's won countless "white caucuses" like Iowa, Utah, Minnesota, etc. He was practically tied with Hillary Clinton in the undiverse state of New Hampshire. If there are some backwards pockets in West Virginia or Pennsylvania, I'm confident that Obama can increase turnout in other demographics to bypass the need to pander to the most ignorant and hateful electorates in the country.
