Has Obama laid a new roadmap to political victory?

To me, Obama's victory in the Democratic nomination process signals the era of new politics. Here are some that I think will be accepted as the new standard.

1) Internet fundraising and small donations will become the norm, although it's not as if candidates will shun big money. But building a large base of small donors will be what every serious candidate will seek to do.

2) More candidates will try to get in touch with the online political community. Obama was by far the most popular candidate on sites like DailyKos that are now begrudgingly acknowledged by the MSM as influential entities. The blogosphere demographic will become an important and legitimate one.

3) Taking the high road will be seen as a more viable option, although I expect plenty of mud-slinging to still occur. I'm not suggesting that Obama was a saint in his campaign (i.e. his accusing Hillary of being a corporate shill during the South Carolina debate), but he resisted engaging in talking about the many many many skeletons in Hillary's closet when he could've done so. By proving the viability of the high road at the highest level of politics, many aspiring politicians will have faith that they too can stay above the fray and still emerge victorious.

Those are some of the aftermath effects I foresee in the wake of Obama's historic nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate. Feel free to add your ideas.
