Handy Guide to how Obama won big in very "white" primary states
I decided to get numbers of how the percentage of white and non-latino voters and the relationship with how many percentage points Obama won the 31 states by. You can see that in very "white" states, Obama had very decisive victories. Note: I did the stats as a a graphic to line up the numbers.

Relationship of State White Population Won by Obama and Percentage Won By

It should be noted that states won in the primary season don't necessarily equal to how the states vote in the General Election.

1. You don't understand Hillary Inc. What she is saying is
the white vote is only important in the states where she wins the white vote.

5. These are subjects Moron Joe could perhaps address very soon
First we'll have to point out where Haiti is on the map and maybe even the "significance" of it.

Is Barack Obama a Voodoo King?

How much do you get paid to write this stuff?

South Carolina - he only won 24% of the white vote.
Georgia - He lost the white vote by 10%.
Missouri - He lost the white vote by 18%
Louisiana - He lost the white vote by 28%.
Maryland - He lost the white vote by 10%
North Carolina - He lost the white vote by 24%

He won all 6 states on the back of a large black electorate that voted overwhelming for him. To say otherwise is the height of intellectual dishonesty.

17. Maine and North Dakota were low-turnout caucuses.
Iowa is a good win, but it was 4 months ago and Obama is a much different candidate now.

Wisconsin was before Obama started getting vetted by the media. I doubt he would win Wisconsin now.

And you couldn't come off as more pathetic if you tried when you say "he probably wouldn't win now." WTF does that even mean? Face it he whooped her in Wisconsin, Maryland, and Virginia with plenty of help from white voters.

Another thing is that a majority of the black voters that support Obama are working class as well, but the media won't mention that.

Obama would win Wisconsin by 30+ points at this point. People here are sick of The Monster. Believe me...

As for you laughing off Maine and North Dakota, that's pretty bitter as well as elitist. A twofer!

40. They match the numbers
I've seen from CNN's exit polling.

The OP is misleading. It doesn't actually address the real question at all. The real question is how does Obama do with white, working class voters. This is just a distraction from that question.

In which states did Obama with the majority of the white vote? That would be a list more germane to the discussion.

24. Be sure not to leave this out like the OP did...
Here is how he performed among whites in the states in the list for which we have exit poll data (the only caucuses we have such info for are IA and NV).

IA: +1
SC: -16, third place
AL: -47
CT: -1
DE: -16
GA: -10
IL: +19 (home state)
MO: -18 (next to Illinois)
UT: +15
LA: -28
MD: -10
VA: +5
WI: +9 (next door to Illinois)
MS: -44
NC: -24

Keep in mind these are states he won. This doesn't include states like Ohio where he lost whites by 30 points.

There is a clear effort by the Obama camp to try to create a myth that he has done well with white voters. The gaping holes in this mythology reveals the truth is the exact opposite. The reason they don't post the actual numbers is because they know full well he has gotten crushed among white voters nationally.

Recent states for context.

OH: -30
TX: -12
VT: +22
RI: -26
MS: -44
PA: -26
IN: -20 (next door to Obama's home state)
NC: -24

These are the numbers for whites overall. He has done even worse with white working people. In Ohio he lost them by 44 while losing whites overall by "only" 30. Similarly in PA he lost them by 40 while losing whites overall by "only" 26.

32. In other words Obama did just well enough among whites
to win the majority of ALL Americans. Take your numbers and go home. It makes me sad to think that Hillary's race-baiting has turned her supporters into race-baiters by proxy. Take your candidate with you. It's time to put this BS to bed.

37. I didn't deny your numbers or your facts, in fact I agree that they are correct
which doesn't make any difference to me.

Fact: Obama won the majority of ALL voters in the Democratic primary.
THAT is what matters to me. Not how many men voted for him, or how many women voted for him, not how many college graduates or H.S. graduates, not how many blacks whites or hispanics, but how many AMERICANS.

Those are the numbers that matter to me, and yes that is a FACT as well. No less substantial than Hillary's auto-catalytic (with an assist from the media) support among whites.

You do know what auto catalytic means right? It means self-reinforcing. In other words Hillary cites her support among whites in order to further divide the party. The more aware people are of the supposed racial divide the more likely they are to internalize that divide and fall into line with it, which is EXACTLLY what Hillary is seeking to do.

I did not dispute your numbers. I disputed their value, for you to suggest otherwise is intellectually dishonest (and like your candidate) deliberately divisive.

39. He has not even come close to winning a majority of whites.
He has won the "majority of Americans" due to token white support (mostly latte liberals) and large black electorate in the primary that has voted overwhelming for him.

do they not constitute a majority of democratic primary voters?

on edit: Oh, and with a nick like NJsecularist you sound like the sort of snooty latte-liberal whose opinion is of absolutely no value to anyone, especially an undereducated poor white like myself. Thank goodness I don't allow myself to be led around by the nose by the punditry or else I'd have been voting Republican, long before this primary ever started.

I only bring this up because the OP cited a state like South Carolina as a large majority 'white' state, which it is. Of course, among the democratic electorate AAs are 45% of the population.

21. Senator Obama is winning all over the US because
he speaks to class rather than race. He knows that there are a whole bunch of people in a whole bunch of colors who are all in the same boat, the lower and middle class boat and he knows that boat is sinking. He's seen as the lifeline and I don't think many of us give a rats ass what color that hand is that is reaching out to help us.
