I haven't seen much on Indiana absentee ballots...

1. Not sure about Indiana

but in many states they count those before the normal votes even come in.

3. MSNBC said that was partly what took Indiana so long last night --

they were counting 11,000 absentee ballots. Don't remember if it was from one county or the state in general. Both Indiana & NC have gone to early voting systems. While those systems don't obviate the need for absentee ballots, I'd bet that it decreases the number of absentee ballots. People in NC now have 2 weeks to vote and can stop at any early voting location -- makes it very easy to vote and doesn't limit you to one day that may be incredibly inconvenient. Lord, I remember voting in NYC at the crack of dawn before work and standing in the lines. It's a breeze in NC now!

University where the students voted absentee because of spring break. Not sure if all those were counted or not, but seeing how the vote came in so late, I assume they were.
