THE TRUTH: Bush did the First Flip-Flop on Iraq Funding !
Just got an email from a friend (don't know if he posts here or not) that was a real eye opener. He said:

A caller to the Al Franken Show just made a brilliantly simple observation regarding Kerry’s “flip-flop” on the $87 billion Iraq funding bill. Remember that Bush commercial that shows Kerry saying he actually voted for the funding bill before he voted against it? In fact he voted for the bill that would have paid for the funding by reducing the tax-cut to the top 2%, and he voted against the bill that would have paid for the funding by borrowing the money.

The caller observed that the Republicans, including George W, opposed the first bill and supported the second. In other words the Republicans voted against the funding bill before they voted for it. And Bush opposed the funding bill before he supported it. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

I'd love to see a Kerry commercial on this!

1. Oh, this is just a great point. GREAT point!
And, as you say, brilliantly simple.

It's amazing that the media, Dems (and the Kerry campaign), let them get away with such rank hipocrisy. Kerry SHOULD, as you say, be running a commercial challenging that ad. Or at least every Dem spokesperson should bring that up, and CALL the media on ignoring it.

3. Bush actually threatened to VETO the bill if any part of it was a loan!
He had to fight the Republicans on this who, long with many Democrats, wanted to required that half of the $18B be in the form of a loan.

Bush's biggest flip-flop that goes unremarked on by our SCLM is his running after the IWR saying that "war was his last resort." He pulled out the UN inspectors, who he feared would soon tell the world there was NO WMD, and rushed to war in Iraq. The media, no only remained silent, they cheerled the nation to war.

4. Unbelievable chutzpah.
To turn around and try to pin on Kerry what they themselves were guilty of.
