1. What a night...

Bummed Obama didn't pull it out but the damage is done for Hillary. Most people went to bed seeing how close it was (and how big he won in NC).

5. The wire and news services call for precinct numbers directly and get them before
those totals are reported to the state.

11. What a night, eh?
Wow. I never expected anything like this. Even when it was beginning to look like he was closing the gap I still didn't dream it would be this close.

It's been one hell-of-a ride.

13. It should be. She is out of money, and even with FL and MI she won't win
unless she creates a disaster on the Convention floor, and who would that help?

14. The Mayor of Gary made a strategic error when he sat on the vote for
four hours and then released the Gary vote an hour before he released the vote from the rest of the county. It focused national attention on the fact that Indiana really is right next to Chicago. It was some kind of freaking miracle that Clinton won Indiana and that Lake County was 55O and 45 C.

He should have just let them release the vote as it came it. He sounded dumb repeating "We are counting eleven thousand absentee ballots" over and over again.

21. Then it is a miracle that Obama won Vermont?
The "Indiana is next to Illinois" argument doesn't fly.

15. Hopefully ALL of them.
It would be absolutely ridiculous to drag this out any further.

One superdelegate could cross over, and end this for good.......

.....and don't think it hasn't crossed his mind. Bill knows his legacy (whatever you might think about it) is on the line here as much as anything else.

18. I don't think it's crossed his mind.
I am glad it will be over, perhaps by Thursday, though. I know we might be wishful thinking, and all, but goodness - the talk was how she was pulling it to single digits in NC and going to win by up to 10 in IN.... that did NOT happen.

I'm sure you and the rest of us cannot wait for this to be over (esp. for DU sanity!)

on Thursday.

24. Why do you think she's going to drop out? She has two big states coming up and has given no
indication she intends to do so.

28. If she stays in it will be at Obama's request so that he isn't embarrassed by losing a state or two
against an opponent who dropped out of the race.

27. I disagree because it is clear that Hillary Rodham
Clinton has run out of big states and she is further from the nomination than she was just 24 hours ago. Super Delegates have seen Obama make inroads with the "working class white rural voter in Indiana." They now see that he is clearly capable of carrying this group in hostile territory. I think several SDs will come out in his favor in the next day.
