Poll question: How do you pronounce E L E C T O R A L
I can't EVEN tell you the number of "professional" reporters I've heard say this incorrectly. So, DUers, show them how it's done.

I'll give you a hint. If it ends with "ee-ul" it's wrong.

eh-LECT-or-uhl (how I'd say it)
or
ee-LECT-or-uhl (alternative given in Chambers English Dictionary)

But note that Chambers (a British dictionary) also gives an alternative spelling: electorial. So that's where your 'ee-ul' comes from.

Emphasis on the 2nd syllable.

Vowel sounds, syllable by syllable:

1. ih - like the I in pit
2. LEK - like the E in pet
3. ter - like the E in item or the U in circus
