Dean is a member of the Republican 2004 Victory club!
Former Vermont governor Howard Dean learned something new yesterday: He's a member of the Republican National Committee's Victory 2004 club. Even has the membership card to prove it. It arrived in the mail with a striking picture of President and Laura Bush, and a typed note: "To: Howard Dean, thank you for your loyal commitment, I'm looking forward to working with you for a great Republican victory in Vermont this year. Warmest regards, George Bush."

2. Maybe they will send Kerry a letter too?
Also there is another LOL moment in the letter.

The second joke is the fact the letter talks about "a great Republican victory in Vermont this year". NY has a better chance of going for Bush then Vermont.

9. Actually based on the last polls
Bush is closer to Kerry in Vermont than New York.

New York

Siena | 7/12-7/15 604 R 4.0 Bush 29% Kerry 51% - Kerry +22

Vermont

Research 2000 | 4/27-30 n/a n/a Bush 36% Kerry 51 % 4 Kerry +15

So Kerry has a 22 point lead in New York

and a 15 point lead in Vermont

6. Hey, I know a bunch of people in MN who got one
including my wife-- which is really strange, because she participated in the DFL caucus this spring, and we've had a Kucinich sign in our lawn for the last six months!

She kept the card, and left it on the desk of one of her Democratic colleagues as a joke.

Oh well, as long as the Repubs keep spending their $$ on direct mail to households who will never respond, it helps us out!

11. Some freeper probably sent a donation in his name
Maybe we should send $5 contributions in honor of Dick Cheney, Tom DeLay, Rick Santorum, and all of our other good buddies in the GOP.
