I seem to have unintentionally offended a few people. Didn't want to do that. My bad.

1. Please don't say that
I love sports, but I really don't think that the state of our country and the world should be reduced to a sports metaphor.

been called "horse races," and hear those metaphors all the time. "Coming down to the wire," "In the home stretch," etc.

8. Sorry if I offended you.
I don't think there is anyone, though, who doesn't think about the implications that our nominee will either be an African-American or a woman. Which, I think, is a good thing.

10. Are you saying it is "offensive" to be concerned about animal cruelty? How dare
anything interfere with the power-struggle of HC and BO. That is nonsense.

5. Obviously, the "sport" of horseracing needs to be reevaluated. But, as others seem
to be saying, what happens in the artificial world of politics is much more important than the unnecessary killing of a "dumb" animal for the amusement of wealthy Americans.

7. I live in KY and I fully agree...
this is a "sport" in name only...it's all about the gambling and while I am certain that racing fans everywhere are heartsick over Eight Belles, they will still go to the track and put more horses at risk for their own personal pleasure and gain. Here in Lexington, the Keeneland meet is in April prior to the May races at Churchill; believe me, while there could be a handful of people who just love to watch the horses, most are there to be seen (it's become the place to take your clients) or gamble. I'll stick to NASCAR...those drivers choose to be in those cars...the horses can't choose.

Time to take a look at horse racing. Its pretty ridiculous on the face of it. And, as far as I can tell, all it does is contribute to lung cancer.
